I put a lot of stock in guest reviews, and they were on point for this listing!
The house is even better than it appears in the photos. It is incredibly bright and cheerful, and it is so charming to stay in a place with such a sense of personality and history. You can tell that it is a much beloved home. It is full of wonderful art; my personal favorite was the huge, medieval city (?) sketch (watercolor?) in the darling studio.
The location truly can’t be beat: on a gorgeous, tree-lined, friendly, PEACEFUL street, with a beautiful view at the bay dock - and yet just steps away from multiple good restaurants, and just around the corner from the main drag, with many more restaurants and shops.
The host was very easy to communicate with, as was access to the house.
One thing I really loved that isn’t mentioned or obvious from the pictures is that the backyard has really good visual privacy. I always feel weird when I’m sitting on a patio and can be seen by neighbors. Not here!
FYI to future guests: the second bedroom (with the full-size bed and the futon) - along with the second bathroom with shower stall - is up the stairs in a beautiful, airy, bright loft with no door or walls fully separating it from downstairs. As such, most of the space has decent visual privacy, but not sound privacy, with the downstairs open common area (kitchen, dining, living, foyer, hallway to downstairs primary bedroom). Didn’t bother us but mentioning for those who may need to know.
