|Minimum Stay||1 - 4 nights|
Modern family home apartment with a big kitchen that is fully equipped. One bedroom with a double bed, one bedroom with a bunk bed and a single bed.
The beautiful converted cowshed has kept its characteristics. Fully equipped with all facilities as long as the kitchen and the sanitary facilities are concerned. However, you will feel the need to go out and discover the surroundings. Whether you love nature or culture, this region is the perfect holiday place for example to bike in the splendid nature of the Netherlands. Open the door and you are immediately in the heart of a Dutch landscape. Get on a boat and sail on the river Vecht. You can also visit the places of Weesp, Muiden and Naarden. Moreover... the lovely Amsterdam is located only 15 minutes away via public transport.
I would highly recommend this apartment. It exceeded our expectations, was very clean and had everything we needed. Melanie and Paul were very helpful and provided great sightseeing suggestions.
I stayed in Weesp for four days with my best friend and my youngest child after leaving Germany and on the way to Bruge. We found the apartment better than expected. The location was just perfect to visit everything you would love to experience in the Netherlands. We took advantage of the museum passes and went to several museums in Amsterdam: Van Gogh, Rijks, etc and the Amsterdam Castle in Muiden which my 5 year old loved. Paul and Melanie even offered us metro passes which proved invaluable as I would not even know how to buy them. You just have to put money on the card at the train station for the 6 euro round trip ride to Amsterdam. We took a day trip to Delft and toured the Royal Delft Factory which is impressive. Unfortunately the passes don't cover that and they charge 12 euros to tour the factory but it was worth it. I found the Netherlands extremely clean and the people very friendly. I enjoyed staying in the peaceful country setting in beautiful Weesp with the close proximity to bustling Amsterdam just 15 minutes away by train. I would definately recommend this apartment to anyone who wants to visit Amsterdam without the drama. Paul and Melanie were great. Thank you for your hospitality.
Our stay at the Kooienstal 2 bedroom accommodation with our son and granddaughter proved to be a great part of all the memories we had together for two weeks.
Very spacious main floor areas; large table in kitchen area suitable for a group. Enjoyed the extra large fridge for storage of Dutch cheese and sausage with room ++ for many beverages!
The bedrooms upstairs had ample storage space which is essential for a group and the mattresses were very comfortable.
The bathroom on the main floor was spacious and proved to be very workable for four. Loved that big sink!
Washing and drying machines proved invaluable.
The owners were extremely accommodating and helpful, addressing our queries and concerns immediately.
The location is wonderful. Not only do you partake of the flavour of the area by being along a stretch of farmland, but you awake to the sound of a rooster .......however, not to worry, it does not wake you up!
Across the road, there is a bench where time was also spent watching the boats go by on the Vecht and just generally watching the world go by. Across the water and to the right there are several windmills to add to the typical Dutch landscape.
We loved going into the town of Weesp as it is very pretty, with small bridges and canals......big enough to have a market on Tuesdays where one can always buy fresh fish from the vendors and many other goodies unique to Holland.
The farm is within 20 minutes biking distance to the train station or a 5 minute drive. Parking is free at the station and a one way ticket to Amsterdam direct is about 2.60 Euros.
We rented a car so this location proved ideal for visiting all the major tourist sights. None were more than an hour and a half away...as probably Delft and Den Haag were.
We were very appreciative of the free museum cards which proved to be invaluable as it gave us options to see things once or twice and probably encouraged us to do one or two that we would normally have passed by. Great idea!
Fresh large vases of beautiful tulips arrived at our doorstep several times by our gracious and friendly hosts.
Thank you Melanie and Paul, for enhancing this unique and memorable experience for our family and re-enforcing that Holland truly is a gezellig place to be.
We stayed in The Loft and found the apartment to be very clean and well decorated with fresh flowers upon our arrival. Paul was a gracious host and greeted us with information, recommendations, and museum cards that helped us enjoy our stay even more! The apartment is only a short train ride into Amsterdam and is convenient to several attractions near by. We really enjoyed Muiderslot castle, which wasn't even on our original itinerary, but was suggested by Paul and was only 10 minutes away! We would recommend this apartment!
One thing to note: there are very steep stairs in the apartment that might be an issue for some, but we didn't find it a problem.
We stayed in Koeienstal unit together with our friends, 5 adults and 1 child in total.
The farm house is very spacious and clean. Black-colored stone floor and walls was a bit of depressing but it could be because of cold and cloudy weather outside. I am sure that in hot and sunny summer time it would appeal to its guests as it could make them feel cooler. All necessary utensils were provided, so that we could once cook a dinner here. Paul, the owner, was extremely friendly and helpful. We are very grateful for his advice regarding interesting places to visit. Moreover, we were provided with six free museum cards which give free access to the main museusms in Amsterdam.
The farm house has a very convenient location for exploring the country. If you go to Amsterdam, you may leave a car at Park&Ride which is 5-7 minutes to drive. It costs 8 euro per day and you will get 5 free transport tickets to go to the city center and back by metro, which is located 5 min walk from the parking place. If you decide to travel around small towns and villages it is the best place to do one-day trips from.
Overall, we enjoyed staying here and would advice it to our friends.
Rural surroundings great area to bike, hike and sail in almost every season. A1 and A9 are the nearby highways. Charming villages and places nearby such as Weesp, Abcoude, Muiden, Muiderberg, Ankeveen, Naarden-Vesting, Bussum, Nederhorst den Berg and Loosdreccht. Easy access to several cities with the public transports: Amsterdam, Hilversum and Utrecht.
