About this property

Breathtaking views of the Chianti hills, Tradition, Sustainability and Design

Villa Lucardo, an ancient barn protected by the Superintendence of Archeology, Fine Arts and Landscape of Tuscany, recently restored, is located a few km from the major historical centers of Florence, Siena, San Gimignano, Pisa, and Volterra, with their own airports.
The surrounding area is characterized by vineyards for the production of local fine wines. For wine lovers, the nearby Greve in Chianti, Montalcino, Radda in Chianti and many other small picturesque towns offer several tastings venues, as in the ancient Castle of Verrazzano.
The famous 5 Terre, the beaches of Versilia and the Tyrrhenian coast are less than two hours away, as well as the wonderful excursions to the marble quarries of Carrara.
Villa Lucardo, enjoys incredible breathtaking views of the Chianti hills from every window of the house, with unforgettable sunrises and sunsets. It features 4 double bedrooms with panoramic views, each with en-suite bathrooms and A/C. The cozy living room with fireplace in local stone and A/C , anticipates the large kitchen and the designer fireplace.
The vast panoramic park on the two valleys to the east and west surrounds the house, protected by both an alarm and videocameras to enjoy a safer relaxed stay. The aromatic plants, roses, tall trees, make the garden particularly suitable for relaxation and artistic inspiration! There, you will find several tables with chairs for dining under the grape pergola and deck chairs to rest in the sun.
A rustic 200 square meter courtyard invites to dinners under the stars and dancing parties.
In front of the property you will find a large private parking area.
Villa Lucardo, with its captivating mix of local tradition, design and contemporary art, has also been published in Ville & Casali Magazine.
The environment, thanks to a temperate and ventilated microclimate, make it particularly pleasant all year around.
The Wi-Fi network is present in every room.
The interiors prefer natural materials such as walnut, linen, cotton, hemp fibers.
At about 500 meters there is the village Borgo di Lucardo, two typical restaurants, a pizzeria and the ancient church of the year 1093 AD with paintings of the Italian Renaissance.
The nearest town is Fiano, just 2 km away, with grocery stores, bakeries, a pharmacy and bars. Nearby you will find important castles and local wineries for tasting wine and cheeses throughout the year such as the renowned Cantina Antinori, founded by the Marquises Antinori at the beginning of Middle Age.
In the vicinity of the house it is possible to make historical visits, dinners and tastings of typical products, such as at Castello Sonnino, Castello di Poppiano and Castello Conte Guicciardini. At just 15 km. you'll find the enchanting San Gimignano village and at 8 Km. from home, Certaldo, another one of a kind historical and famous village.

Villa Lucardo - a PERFECT Stay
Villa Lucardo was the best part of our family trip to Italy. With a family of 7, we had Amazing views, and VL was a central location to cities in Tuscany where we planned several day trips. What we did not know is how incredible our hosts would be. Even before we arrived, Margharita gave us great recommendations for local activities: restaurants, tastings, towns to visit. She and her husband greeted us when we arrived with a wonderful toast and snack and visited with us for a bit, which made the stay much more personable for us. As for the villa itself, we could not have imagined a better place. The nights were cool and the trees provided shade during the day, which allowed us to frequently eat outside as a family. The beds were very comfortable and the cool breeze was wonderful throughout the house day and night. The living areas were spacious for us in the evenings as well, and we found the place fully equipped, including coffee for the mornings! The views….wow…we cannot capture the beauty on all sides of the villa… we saw wonderful sunsets in the front, and the views in the back may be some of the best in all of Tuscany. We took daily walks locally and felt very much at home in the community. Local restaurants within 1 mile were wonderful, as well as others just a few miles down the road. The kitchen was well equipped for those days we prepared meals at home. VL is a slice of Heaven in Tuscany! Was a perfect stay!

Great house, spectacular view
This is a lovely, very stylishly modernized house, right in the top of a ridge that offers spectacular views. 4 bedrooms, each with an en suite bath, large and well equipped eat-in kitchen, comfortable living room. Lots of outdoor space for eating outside, reading, or just napping. A short distance to many towns worth visiting (but be warned…this part of Tuscany is very hilly, and getting anywhere involves driving in narrow, twisty roads up and down hills. It takes twice as long to get anywhere as you’d think!). The house is in Lucardo, a tiny village near Montespertoli, and except for 2 quite good restaurants within a 10 minute walk down the hill, there is not much going in there. We ate at home most evenings, since the prospect of driving home after a long dinner was not appealing. Margarita, our hostess, couldn’t have been nicer. She and her husband were waiting to welcome us (with wine and treats) when we arrived at the house, and she was there when we left (even though that was a long drive for them). She was easy to community during our stay, even though we had no issues. All in all, a great place for families or a group.

Beyond words
Everything was so perfect and amazing! Its hard to know where to begin. From the moment we booked Villa Lucardo ,Margherita responded to our request for information ( which was significant given there was 7 adults) with thoughtful detailed information within a few hours of our request. Margherita personally met us at the Villa at 8 pm providing us with information about the Villa and Lucardo. She guided us to our first dinner in Tuscany, and it was a perfect introduction to the next 5days in Tuscany The Villa itself is magnificent! Sunrise with views of the hills, mist covering the valley and colorful air balloons is beyond words. Sunsets are equally spectacular! Every bedroom has large windows with views of the hills. The Villa was truly “home” and Margherita’s attention to detail and genuine interest in her guests comfort and enjoyment is unique. The Villa exceeded our wildest expectations! We are already planning our return!!

EXCEPTIONAL property, views and host!
This home is lovingly cared for with a gathering kitchen and 4 en-suite bedrooms plus a powder room. The views out back are like something from a movie. The views out front offer spectacular sunsets. Without a car, Margherita connected us with a driver and local tour guides. She also made multiple dinner reservations, stocked groceries and scheduled an in-home cook. Margherita’s quick responses, clear communication and eagerness to address our needs made for a special stay in the heart of Tuscany with friends. p.s. thank you for the lovely anniversary gift, Margherita!
