About this property

Philipsburg Hilltop Getaway

This unique late 1800s mining house was given new life with a total renovation over the past couple years. A mix of modern and reclaimed touches give you a sense of the home's history without compromising comfort. Located just three blocks from downtown Philipsburg and the award winning Philipsburg brewery, the old opera house and museums. Property is walking distance to open space to the east. Great views of Pintler mountains and Discovery ski hill from front porch. Minutes from fly fishing, skiing, Georgetown Lake, ghost towns, gem hunting etc. Oh, and the Sweet Palace! An open yet cozy layout with a mix of reclaimed materials and modern touches. A pellet stove provides additional heat and ambiance during the cooler months. The bathroom and kitchen have been totally updated with modern appliances and as many kitchen necessities as we could think of. This house has built in surround sound speakers, wifi, Netflix, Apple TV, local channels, Pandora. Large outdoor patio and bbq area just completed. House has two bedrooms (one Queen, and one twin over full bunk bed), as well as a sleeper sofa. This house can be booked with a second rental on the property. A detached guest suite that includes a queen bed, kitchenette (microwave, fridge, hot pot), and half bathroom (no shower or tub). It is just off the garage and perfect for guests who wish for a little additional privacy. Please refer to my other listing for details on this unit. We are happy to offer this unit at a discounted price of $50/night (vs $60/night) when booked with the main house. Message me if this is of interest to you so I can adjust the price on the cottage listing. Please note this is a pet free rental to keep cleaning/rental costs down. Base rate is for up to 5 guests. Additional guests (up to 2) $10 extra/night per guest. This does not apply if extra guests are using cottage. Thank you!
Please note in winter months our back alley access cottage guests may need to park out front of main house and walk in to the cottage if the alley is snowed or plowed in.

Great base for exploring Phillipsburg/Lake George
Propert was located up above Phillipsburg with a very nice yard and view! A little cool while we were there but the yard would be very nice to spend time in. The house was clean and well maintained! Easy check in and Connie was very prompt at answering all our questions. Would recommend!

I live in Missoula with my family to include our 8 year old son and 6 year old daughter. We are ambitious travelers and have enjoyed using vrbo and airbnb sites to find unique places to stay. We have learned from our experiences what we appreciate in a vacation rental home. We hope we have created a comfortable space for you to visit in Philipsburg, MT. The renovation of this home has been a labor of love for us. We spend a great deal of time here ourselves when we are not renting it to others. We are happy to share information on the Philipsburg or Missoula areas as you need. Feel free to ask!

Why they chose this property

We purchased this as a vacation home in 2015 after falling for the views, history, and proximity to downtown. This is a late 1800s property which we have lovingly restored to reflect the past, as well as tying in some modern touches including upgraded appliances and strong wifi.

What makes this property unique

Morning sunrise from the living room and impressive and expansive views off the front porch. Easy easy access to hiking to the east of the property. Just a 3 block stroll to downtown. Fire pit and outdoor dining/bbq area out back. Home can be rented along with a guest cottage which offers an added bathroom and extra bedroom. The rental rate for the cottage is discounted to $50/night with the main house. We are continuing to work on enhancing the home for ourselves and our friends and guests. We genuinely welcome feedback so feel free to share your thoughts. Thank you!
