About this property

Sunnyside Cottage, in the heart of the Buxton, Derbyshire

Situated in the heart of Buxton this cosy terraced cottage is perfect for couples, friends and small families wanting to get away and unwind. Featuring two bedrooms, one been king size, reclining sofas and modern furniture and fittings, this cottage offers an ideal blend of character, comfort and style.
A short walk takes you to independent retailers, cafes and restaurants that fill quirky period buildings, Buxton Opera House, the tranquil Pavilion Gardens, and the magnificent Devonshire Dome.

This cosy cottage is entirely private, compromising two bedrooms, the main kingsize bedroom is a large airy bedroom with a dressing table, unique lamps and plenty of plush cushions!
The next twin bedroom sees two single beds, slightly smaller but still characterful and no less beautiful. Both bedrooms enjoy duck feather down pillows and duvets, and luxury Egyptian cotton linen, perfect for a good nights comfort!
The living room provides a peaceful setting, reclining sofas, remote gas fired logburner and a TV with Netflix give you a perfect place to unwind with a glass of wine after the day's activities.
Well equipped and modern kitchen with country cutlery and amenities, and lastly a large bathroom.
Whatever your day's activities or adventures, this cottage will ensure that you wake up rested and raring to go!

Situated in the heart of Buxton, known as the gateway to the Peak District, my place is only a short walk from many of Buxton's greatest attractions; such as the extraordinary Buxton opera house which hosts 450 shows per year, why not book to see a show, musical or comedian during your stay?

Cafes, restaurants and independent retailers fill quirky period buildings and prove an absolute delight. Buxton is renowned for its fascinating architecture and buildings, such as the Devonshire Dome and the Buxton Crescent, built in the style seen in the city of Bath, both these buildings await your discovery and are a short walk. The 5th Duke of Devonshire had a big impact on Buxton's architecture when he had visions of creating a spa town to rival Bath. Entertainment doesn't disappoint and live bands feature in many special bars at night, or why not try something different like Go Ape!

Explore the nearby lush peaceful dales, wild romantic highlands or quaint little villages with hearty food pubs such as nearby Castleton or Hartington that make the Peak District the nation's favourite national park. For walker's you'll struggle to find a better location, the surrounding area plays host for wonderful waking and can be discovered overground on the Monsal trail, the Tissington trail by going up Mam Tor or walking over Dovedale stepping stones or underground at the nearby Pooles Cavern or Treck Cliff Cavern.
Alton Towers theme park and mighty historic houses such as Chatsworth, Lyme Park and Haddon Hall close by.

Clean new and well equipped.
Cottage interior freshly done ..fixtures and fitting all beautifully co.ordinated and of good quality. Lots of extras left by owner. In bathroom and kitchen. Lack of instruction brochures for any of the electrical equipment eg TV,washing machine etc. Also no instructions for Rubbish disposal . After initial surprise of nowhere to eat we found the lap trays more than adequate for holiday casual eating.very satisfactory substitute. Bench outside superb to eat breakfast in sunshine. Parking can be a problem . OK meals at Ithaca,5 mins walk away near Sainsbury’s....Greek food and open Sunday.,Le Brasserie...French and st Moritz....Italian. Pity The Crescent was completely covered in building works until 2019, spoiling overall impression of Buxton central architecture.
