We had a fabulous week in this beautiful villa. It was even better than we expected. The view from the balcony is just incredible and all the lovely seating areas were perfect. Thank you for a great week!
Omg. This is a gorgeous property. The villa is outstanding. The view every morning was amazing. Drinking coffee or wine looking at the sea! It is like paradise. It can get windy but that's a welcome relief in the sun. The villa had everything you need. A sewing kit came in handy, books, games, condiments and throws for chilly nights looking at the sea (but remember your mosquito spray!) Everything you can think of was here.. Such a home from home! A taxi from Faro cost 90 Euros. We enjoyed quality family time at night with the entertainment in the villa. The pool was amazing. My boys 14,12,7 enjoyed the pool so much they never wanted to leave the villa not even to go to the slash park! It is a safe villa. There is plenty of space to play. We took pop up goals, football and a cricket set! There were lilos and balls already there for the children. The cleaner and her husband were lovely such genuine people. We rented a car from Luz cars. What a relaxing process as opposed to some other rental companies. They bought the car to us. £120 for 3 days. We visited Monchique but unfortunately the water had almost dried up, Lagos was lovely and much livelier than Luz. Its a great place to visit and shop in the market or watch the street entertainment at night. There is a gorgeous Indian restaurant in the back streets and a brilliant Forca shop in the centre for football kits, genuine and replica. We went to Sagres as well to see the sunset. What an amazing experience. We visited a lovely Italian restaurant there. We walked to Luz a few times and got a taxi home. We swam off the cliffs.. They were sharp so good flip-flops are needed! The walk took about 25mins into Luz. The spar there is great but got busy! This was such a relaxing holiday.. Gorgeous villa, gorgeous scenery. There is enough to do here. Absolutely loved this holiday.. One of the best and we are sad to leave. Thank you Sue xx
Good location, great view, villa could be better
Great location, 15-25 min walk to Luz where there are great restaurants, beach etc.
Fabulous view from villa - a real “sea view”!
However, the third bathroom is outside, doesn’t have a lock and is designed for use while at the pool - we actually wanted three proper bathrooms as we were staying with two other couples. My husband and I ended up using it and had to walk outside in the dark at night to use the facilities - there was an ants nest in there and with no lock we had to be careful when using it.
There were also no nets on the bedroom patio doors, which meant that (as they are on the ground floor and everyone has to pass them) we either had to have the curtains permanently closed or risk flashing everyone!!
Lights didn’t work, a shelf in the fridge was broken, as was the upstairs loo seat and one of the gate keys needed a new battery - all mentioned to property managers and despite two visits wasn’t fixed.
The property was in 2 acres of secluded land, but over half of this is scrub land that is unusable - the photos have been cleverly shot to give the impression that the pool area (which is lovely) is different areas of the garden.
It is a shame, as the property could be lovely, but for the price we paid, we have had much better in the Algarve.
We will be back to Luz, but unfortunately won’t be staying here again.
Luxurious Villa next to the ocean.
This is my third stay here and each time it gets better and better. The soft sea air relaxes you immediately upon arrival and the mature, manicured gardens of Mediterranean plants like Birds of Paradise and Lemon trees surround you as you swim in the stunning pool.
The kitchen tiled in beautiful Portuguese ceramics is equipped with all the cooking utensils needed to make delicious meals to eat in the dining room or outside at the long table on the patio over looking the sea.
If you want some night life or dinner at a special restaurant, Luz is a nice walk along the coast or a short 10 minute drive. Super food markets are there with the freshest produce ever.
Waking up every morning to those far reaching views over the ocean and cliffs with the warm ocean air makes leaving this palatial paradise a very hard thing to do.
We'll be back soon.
Beautiful house and pool amid stunning gardens
We had such a fun and relaxing time staying at this beautiful, happy property. The house itself is the perfect size and offers breathtaking views of the Atlantic that you don't tire of waking up to. It had been immaculately kept by the very friendly and helpful housekeeper Marianela and we felt settled in as soon as we arrived.
The gardens around the house are bursting with life and colour and show a similar level of care and attention as the rest of the property. With perfect weather all week we were able to make maximum use of the pool, which is incredibly clean and is the perfect temperature.
Luz is in walking distance and Lagos is about a five or ten minute drive. They compliment each other perfectly because Luz is smaller and quieter, whilst still full of great restaurants and bars, and Lagos is bristling with activity if you want something more lively.
I would without hesitation recommend this beautiful place to anyone looking for an exceptionally fun, relaxing and hassle-free holiday.
lovely villa with great views. very relaxing
villa is beautifully placed about 20 mins walk from luz and 40 mins walk from burgau along spectacular cliffs. villa was well equipped and gardens and pool were well kept with lots of space to find some peace and quiet.
Praia da Luz (also referred to as 'Luz') is a pretty seaside village where you can relax and enjoy your time away. There is a fantastic beach here and spectacular views to enjoy with the opportunity to discover beautiful landscapes.
Luz has many great beach bars and restaurants , with a very good supermarket and deli , also selling fresh fish each day.
There are a whole range of different family activities available in and around Praia da Luz including water sports at the beach, the Zoo in Lagos, water parks, several superb golf courses, Tennis, Fishing, Hiking, Horseback Riding, Dolphin Watching, Scuba Diving, organized tours and much more.
