The cottage provides guests with 250 feet of private shoreline and spectacular sunsets. The clear, clean water is a joy to swim in. Sitting on the south shore of the lake, it offers terrific sunfish and bass fishing right off the dock. It's a great lake for other water sports including boating, sailing, canoeing, and paddle boating. Boats can be moored. Paddle boat; a pair of Kayaks; and Corn Hole boards are provided for complimentary use. There are a number of hiking, cycling, mountain biking and golfing opportunities within minutes. Many charming boutiques and fine dining opportunities in nearby Keene and Brattleboro.
The property sits on an small peninsula, but the natural foliage makes it uniquely secluded from the other properties on the lake. It offers both historic charm and modern amenities such as wireless internet.
Spofford is nine miles east of Brattleboro, Vermont and nine miles west of Keene, New Hampshire. The cottage was built by a prominent physician and his wife in the mid 1930s and has stayed in the family ever since. Noted local artist, Albert Quigley, painted magnificent murals depicting the local area found throughout the upper level.
