About Rhonda Hayter
Your hosts are Rhonda and Stephen, who raised their now college-aged sons in this house. Stephen's a middle-school teacher and Rhonda is an editor and children's book author. Because Rhonda works at home, there's usually someone nearby if you need help, have questions, or would just like to chat. Working at home also allows her to bake muffins and breads for your breakfast and she loves doing it.
Rhonda Hayter purchased this House in 2000
Why Rhonda Hayter chose Mid-Wilshire
It's a beautiful room and bath, with the privacy of its own entrance and the peace and quiet of a lovely patio and garden. And the home-made muffins are nice too!
What makes this House unique
No more than a fifteen or twenty-minute walk away, is Wilshire Blvd, with coffee shops, restaurants and cafes. Strolling along the boulevard, you'll encounter the La Brea Tar pits and the Page Museum with the beautiful park surrounding it. Next is the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, with the fun of the food trucks parked across the street every day. And then there's the newly reopened Peterson Car Museum.

Like a Vermont B&B in the middle of LA
Thoroughly enjoyed my 4 night stay in this super-clean, warm, inviting, private space of a cool, old Spanish colonial. Rhonda goes above and beyond to provide a true B&B experience with a delicious breakfast basket each morning as well as coffee and tea:) Good linens, basic toiletries were also nice touches, and street parking was a breeze. I could not have asked for more and as a woman traveling alone, I felt safe and comfortable. The location is perfect to get to just about anywhere in LA (I was visiting my son at USC) and I would most definitely stay here again!
Perfect for short stay
This place was perfect for our one night stay in LA. Centrally located, and very close to great restaurants, shopping, etc...
Great Relaxing stay!
This place was a slice of simplicity in a complex city that can be overwhelming. Rhonda was a gracious host! She had restaurant recommendations (Trejo's tacos! the burritos are AMAZING!) and was very informative and helpful with our visit. The room and bathroom were top notch, comfortable and very clean. We loved the back yard- very relaxing. Thank you Rhonda- we will see you next time we are in LA!
Great hosts, great location, great room!
You really can't lose here, even on Monday or Tuesday street cleaning days when you have a car. Parking was never a problem.
The room is cozy and tidy, the bathroom is clean and attractive. The bed is big and had a thick pillow and a thin one. Total win.
There is a book case with an extremely diverse selection of about fifty titles. If you need to read yourself to sleep, there's something there to do the trick.
I'd absolutely stay here again.
Thank you Kevin. We hope we see you again sometime
Comfortable and convenient
Wonderful room to stay in! Very very comfortable. Also amazing host from the breakfast to letting us store our luggage for the day in there home. Truly a pleasant stay. We will reture
We had a short one-night stay, and everything was perfect. It was easy to find and easy to park in the quiet residential neighborhood. The size was just right for the two of us. It was well-stocked with water and coffee, and the continental breakfast provided at our doorstep in the morning was delicious! Had we been there longer, it would have been nice to sit on the patio and enjoy the yard. I highly recommend staying here.
Thank you! We're so glad you enjoyed it.
We're located in the Miracle Mile historical district, on a leafy street of beautiful duplexes from the 1920s. It's a 25 minute walk through a lovely neighborhood to the Los Angeles County Museum of Art, the LaBrea Tar Pits, and the Peterson Car Museum. If you're here for a taping, CBS Television City is five minutes away by car. We're equidistant to downtown, the beaches and Hollywood/Universal Studios, all of which will take less than half an hour to reach, and we're less than ten minutes away from Beverly Hills and Rodeo Drive. Los Angeles is famously spread out, but this area is known as mid-city, meaning it's very centrally located and it's your best bet for getting to all the places you want to see.
