Why Martine chose Quartier Centre

I have created my Holiday rentals in 2011. My Alsatian house is located in my favorite place of Colmar : the so romantic and magical Little Venice district.

I have chosen to renovate these house keeping the Alsatian style and spirit : my apartments are decorated with Alsatian colors, old furniture, antiques, original paintings of Alsatian artists....

What makes this apartment unique

Perfect location in the old city, close to all shops, monuments, restaurants, Christmas markets. Close to the railway station (10-15 minutes walk). Beautiful Alsatian decoration (antiques, Alsatian furniture by artist JC Pioget, paintings by David Grandmaire).

Outstanding location and very accommodating owners

  • 5 of 5

Located in the center of Petite Venice, this period exterior with a modern interior is a perfect combination. The covered market is just across the canal. Our friendly cheese & sausage dealer, three doors away, opens his street level windows and sells his own creations. He smiled, telling us of his single years spent in Santa Monica. The charm and wide offerings of the city of Colmar and access to the Alsace wine route makes this a perfect location for visiting Alsace. The owners met us upon arrival, helped with our luggage and drove us to their off-site parking garage, because our Ford Torneo was too tall for their on-site parking garage. We had a wonderful stay.

Extremely Convenient Location and Lovely Apartment in Petite Venise

  • 5 of 5

I can't say enough wonderful things about both the quaint, comfortable, and well-equipped apartment (we stayed on the second floor), the location (right in the heart of Petite Venise and a 2 minute walk to local Winstubs, the covered market for groceries and treats, and 5 min walk to the heart of old Colmar and Christmas markets). Additionally, the ability to book and use the convenient parking spot in a well-lit, always accessible parking lot nearby was very convenient - contending with the congestion of other lots that always appeared to fill up by mid morning was a great feature. Staying further into the centre of old town would mean living in the constant throngs of the people, and a distant spot to walk to and from your car since the streets are pedestrian only and cars need to be parked around the perimeter.

The apartment itself had everything we needed for our stay and was very comfortable for my adult daughter and I. Martine and Philippe went way out of their way to be helpful and supportive in anything that we asked. I unfortunately got sick while staying in Colmar and they went far beyond the role of mere vrbo hosts in helping me access a doctor and get the medical help I needed. While many say "call us if you need us", I knew that the offers of support were very genuine and very much appreciated!! I would heartily recommend this lodging and its wonderful hosts to anyone considering a Colmar visit! Au revoir Martin et Philippe - et merci beaucoup pour tout!!

A Great Place to Stay in a Beautiful City

  • 5 of 5

We enjoyed our two-day stay in Colmar, France, at this cute apartment!!! The owners were very nice to us and tried to make our stay easy and convenient, even though we did not speak the same language. We came by train and our host even picked us up and brought us to the place, saving us a fifteen minute walk with our luggage. The apartment was good for us as we brought our adult daughter along and she had a separate sleeping area from our bedroom. When my camera ran out of battery and I did not have an adapter for my charger, our hosts brought one for me. That was above and beyond what they needed to do, but made it so that I could take pictures in Colmar and the rest of my European vacation. There is a wonderful market nearby where we got our breakfasts and lots of great restaurants nearby, as well. So glad we stayed here!

Charming, like the town of Colmar

  • 4 of 5

We loved our stay in the Boatman Suite! It was quaintly decorated, in keeping with the location in Petite Venise. We could walk everywhere and shop for food at stalls in the nearby covered market. Martine and Phillipe were very gracious, meeting us upon our arrival and showing us how everything worked. Colmar itself served both as a destination and a home base for several day trips, so the location was ideal. When we had an issue with the wifi, it was resolved within the day, while we were out. All in all, it was good value for money. We would definitely recommend this rental!

Great apartment in the heart of Little Venice

  • 5 of 5

We stayed in the second-floor apartment for 2 weeks. Perfect location - right in the middle of Little Venice. The apartment was well equipped. We’ve found everything we needed. All necessary shops close by. Elevator very useful for heavy luggage. Fast WiFi. Colmar is great location to drive around and visit beautiful little towns of Alsace or bigger Basel and Strasbourg. When you are with kids you can go to close by Europa Park or Le Parc du Petit Prince.

Very nice contact with the owner – Nathalie was always very helpful, always quick response to any questions. Everything as promised. We would highly recommend the apartment.

CNN states Colmar as one of the 7 most beautiful villages of Europe ! Colmar is rather a small city (67000 inhabitants) with the charm of a village. French and German influences commingle in this well-preserved Alsatian village, where local bakeries sell both croissants and kugelhopf, and restaurants specialize in foie gras and sauerkraut (or choucroute). A range of architectural styles, from German Gothic to French Neo-Baroque, can be spotted in the old town, which was spared destruction during World War II—thanks in part to the historical beauty of its cobblestoned lanes, quiet canals, and half-timbered houses.

Our Alsatian house divided into 3 apartments is located in the most beautiful and romantic place of Colmar : The Little Venice, in the old city, close to all shops, typical restaurants, historic monuments, museums... Our house on Poissonnerie street is a postcard-perfect place, with view over the river and the half-timbered houses.

Colmar : maybe the most beautiful city of Alsace ? Colmar is located half-way from Strasbourg and Mulhouse, and close to The Vosges, it's the perfect place to stay to visit Alsace. Located in 'The road of wines', Colmar is only a few kilometers from beautiful villages such as Kaysersberg, Riquewihr, Ribeauvillé and Eguisheim. Colmar is a city full of history, with typical and romantic places such as 'The Little Venice', great museums such as Unterlinden, magnificent monuments and alsacian houses... It's also the city of gastronomie : you will find many high quality typical restaurants (winstubs) in Colmar but also gastronomic French restaurants, and many vineyards to visit (and taste) around Colmar.
