The house is extremely cozy and we slept great after long days of adventure. Only issue would be the neighbors who live behind the home. They were very loud arguing and fighting every night- screaming and smashing glass. One night we asked them to please quiet down and the woman’s response was “don’t you ******* tell me to quiet down, you should have done your research better. You’re renting a house in the ghetto *****”. So we didn’t get to enjoy the beautiful backyard much. But everything else was great.
Me and my family stayed here for almost a week and did not want to leave. The home was immaculate and the beds/pillows were super comfy. I loved the kitchen and prepared breakfast daily. Everything you need is in the kitchen including the coffee cups that keep your coffee hot and insulated. The beach is a short walk away within 2 blocks. The front and backyards are covered with flowers and green landscape which made us feel like we were in paradise. Not to mention a rooster or two will pay you a visit. We will definitely re-book and be back next year!
Great place with everything you need. Quiet and comfortable.
This was a wonderful place to experience Kauai. Would have loved more than a week herr.
We were in Paradise in our Luxury Restored Plantation Home!
About a block from the beach, this home is perfectly located. We stayed in a different home directly across from the beach earlier this year and while the views were amazing, we had to contend with the traffic noise, especially in the mornings and late afternoon. Nothing but peace and quiet at this amazing home.
The home is perfect for two couples to enjoy a vacation together. It's just the right size and the lanai and hot tub out back are amazing. We started every morning and ended every evening on the lanai.
If you have never been to Kauai before, this is the home to stay in. If you are returning to Kauai, this is the home to stay in.
Kekaha is on the Sunny side of the island, a little away from a lot of the touristy locations, and very calm and peaceful.
Beautiful updated home
My husband and I recently stayed at this house and we're very pleased. The updates and decor are beautiful. The backyard is gorgeous with a good sized hot tub.
It was very updated and clean. There is lots of space in the home with two good sized bathrooms and the kitchen is very functional. The kitchen and bathrooms were minimally stocked, but had much more than we expected (3 rolls of TP per bathroom, spices and oils in kitchen, etc).
The bed we slept in was SO comfortable. We were also thankful for the darker window shades in the bedroom. The TVs and internet work great throughout the house.
The backyard is beautiful and the hot tub works great. There is space in the driveway for a rental car. The neighborhood was friendly- it is an old neighborhood and I would consider it very local and somewhat "country". If your looking to get away from the hustle this is the perfect spot.
The bedrooms had individual split AC wall units that blew nice and cold (more on the AC in the next section). Ceiling fans also helped to keep the space cool.
The during your stay contact, Sarah, was very communicative and answered any questions we had.
The CONS: Don't get us wrong, the pros definitely outweighed the cons for us but I feel obligated to note the few cons we experienced. It was still a 5 star experience for us.
The biggest "issue" was the noise in the back bedroom from the AC. It caused very loud thinking in the ceiling when on, and we had to leave it off at night to sleep due to noise.
While there are ACs in the living and bedrooms, there is not a working AC in the kitchen so it gets quite hot in there while cooking, but manageable.
The showers shoot very hard water, it almost feels like needles piercing the skin, ouch! We got used to it, but something to mention.
There were some bugs, but as a total bug-a-phobic it wasn't bad at all. We found/killed 4 roaches in the house during a 5 day stay. We didn't notice many other bugs, which was better than I was expecting in Kauai!
Lastly, this is not Pro or Con, just a statement. Kekaha is a very cute, pretty rural area. If your going to want to eat out at night nearby, this is not the place for you. There were one or two small places for food nearby open after 4pm. The first major town is about a 45 min drive (Lihue). With that said, if you want peace and quiet, or to stay like the locals do, this is a great spot and easy enough to access the whole island. We would definitely return!
Pretty damn perfect!
Exceptionally clean, great location and stocked with everything you need for a beach vacation. The secluded backyard was our sanctuary after long days of sightseeing. The layout of the home is well thought out and perfect for two couples. All items in the home are of high quality. Beach chairs, coolers and beach towels were provided! Washer and dryer was a plus! Definitely give this house an Ono! Hope to return soon!
