Beautiful 3 bedroom French Cottage - Heated Swimming Pool & Garden - Vineyards

Le Recoin, is a delightful three bedroom cottage, sleeps 6. Spacious with fresh interiors the owners have made every effort to ensure you have a fantastic holiday. Open plan ground floor with modern kitchen, seating area (UK tv channels) WIFI throughout. Large dining table for relaxed family meals. Upstairs there are two kingsize bedrooms and one twin bedroom. Family bathroom with bath, freestanding shower, basin & toilet. The cottage is airy and spacious and enjoys great views of the countryside. Within walking/cycling distance of the village (bar, post office, fresh baguettes and croissants) and 5mins drive from the Spa Town of Jonzac (restaurants, shopping etc). 20mins to Cognac, an hour from the coast, La Rochelle, Bordeaux. Easy reach of St Emilion, Blaye, Medoc, Saintes, Angouleme, Ile de Re, Ile D'Oleron - too many to mention! Shared heated swimming pool (we have other cottages on site at La Cannonerie). The swimming pool is shared with other gîtes on site. TV channels are in English.

Quiet & Relaxing

It was beautifully furnished and looked lovely. We thoroughly enjoyed the pool which although shared, we often had to ourselves. Location was gorgeous in the midst of vineyards and sunflower fields. However, there were cobwebs everywhere when we arrived and the bedroom furniture needed tightening up with allen keys (or replacing). It was a shame the shutters were no longer on the windows as we could not keep the bedrooms cool and then I found we had a plastic lined matress cover which increased the heat! There was also a pipe from the sewage tank which was just by our outside table and a few times, there was a nasty smell.

Relaxing holiday in a pandemic world

Picturesque property surrounded by fields of corn and sunflowers. Kids loved the pool, the beds were very comfortable, downstairs cool in the hot weather. Our hosts answered any questions or requests we had with immediate effect, some of the recommendations we followed, and were not disappointed. Due to the pandemic there were some slight niggles, but these did not detract from the property or hosts and are just things that everyone has to deal with at the moment.

Lovely perfection

Sometimes, as with this property, even the best pictures cannot adequately capture the loveliness of a place! My 4 kids desperately needed a break from city living in Paris so we headed to La Cannonerie for a few days and WE LOVED our vacation here! (1) Our rental (Le Recoin #8) was stylish and comfortable from the colors and lay-out to the furnishings and well-equipped kitchen. (2) The pool, the trampoline, the surrounding fields + the community pool and football field down the street kept my kids well entertained outside (and off their devices!) (3) While the quiet night sky was FULL of stars---the surrounding fields were also full of sunflowers. (4) The loggia is a serene spot to eat, read and relax in the shade. (5) The cottage and the property are immaculate. We hope to return again soon!
