Cluttered and Confusing
If you choose to stay here you’ll receive good communication about arrival and costs BUT... it is assumed (if the owner is away) you will have a phone, to call a man (who doesn’t speak English) to obtain the entry codes. Also, you will find a large amount of money taken from your account for security reasons. I did not have a phone and I was supposed to be met by this man outside the apartment building at an agreed time but he did not turn up. I had been told his place of work was close by and I had to go and find him in his office down the street (dragging all my luggage with me). He made me wait, was unfriendly and unhelpful.
I was surprised by the amount of money taken from my account for “security” when I am a middle age solo traveller and it wasn’t returned until nearly 2 weeks after I left. You will have no control or capacity to negotiate what security money is taken or when it is returned. I also find it ironic that money can be taken from renters in case they break or damage something but there is no avenue for guests if things in the apartment do not work.
The apartment is in a great area as it’s convenient to many things and is very safe. The transport, bistros and multiple places to shop make this area fabulous. But, the main train line to the airport is at the back of this building where the bedroom is positioned & trains go from 5am to 11.55pm!
I found the apartment cluttered with furniture, the dining room table is broken, the kettle was broken, the carpet (particularly upstairs) needs proper cleaning (it is very stained). The bedroom draws and cupboards were filled with things such as plates and crockery (yes, in the bedroom!). The sliding doors on the wardrobes are broken. The kitchen cupboards are also full with cookware you wouldn’t use on holidays, crockery and a lot of old and odd glassware.
When I stayed it was very cold and outside the temperature didn’t rise above 5 and most days it was -2 to 1 degree. The heating in the apartment is minimal to very average. There are 2 small heating units downstairs and 2 small units upstairs and they are not very efficient. Luckily the bed is comfortable and cosy.
Finally, despite paying rent, you only get one roll of toilet paper for the duration of your stay. I stayed for one week and cannot understand why I should be expected to buy toilet paper when many other accommodation places that cost a similar amount per night don’t require guests to supply their own toilet paper!
