Two bed cottage in farm location in rural Devon with indoor heated swimming pool
About Christina Leonard
Myself and my husband have been letting our two self catering holiday cottages for over 30 years. We enjoy meeting people coming to stay with us and helping them to enjoy their holiday. The cottages are within our 45 acre beef farm, on which we have numerous farm birds, chicken, ducks, peacocks and wild pheasants. Frequently I have children from the holiday cottages watching me with the poultry in the morning and helping to collect eggs! We live in the farmhouse near the cottages and are on hand if you have any enquiries during your stay. The position of the cottages is completely separate from the farmhouse and allows for complete privacy. We enjoy seeing guests using the swimming pool and making the most of the gardens and play areas.
Christina Leonard purchased this Cottage in 1980
Why Christina Leonard chose Woolfardisworthy
These cottages were converted by ourselves from barns. In fact Millers cottage did used to be the Mill house for the local area and still has the original Mill stone laid in the gardens.
What makes this Cottage unique
The cottages are peacefully located in the countryside allowing you to completely relax and unwind. There are lush, mature gardens for you to enjoy, the swimming pool, which you have your own key for access at your own convenience. The cottages are situated only a short drive to numerous tourist attractions, adventure parks, beautiful golden beaches, ideal for surfing. There are also numerous countryside and coastal walks in the North Devon area that guests often undertake. There are riding stables, close by and golf courses a short drive from the cottages. Being close to the cornish border, you could drive to some cornish beauty spots or places of interest, such as the Eden project.

Twixt Devon and Cornwall
A great place to travel to explore Devon or North Cornwall.
Good greeting from the owners. The village nearby has a great pub and convenience store.
Lovely break away in Rosie’s cottage
We recently stayed in Rosie’s cottage for a week during the May school holiday. The cottage was quaintly dated, clean and tidy. It was a perfect size for our two year old, seven year old, us and our cockerpoo. The farm is very quiet other than bird song. The garden has a large trampoline, climbing frame / slide and old tractor - that the kids loved. There is a private swimming pool in a separate out house that is safe and warm. If that’s not all there’s even a games room with table tennis, pool and darts board. The local area has good activities for children, we visited the wake park around a ten minute drive away with its ninja warrior style water based obstacle course. Woolacombe has lovely beach for kids around a 40 minute drive away, westward ho! Beach area is also lovely and has kids activities, this was around 15 minutes drive away. I’d certainly return to the cottage for another holiday. The only recommendation I’d make to change there is to have darker curtains or black out blinds for the bedrooms, as they were quite light when the sun came up. Although than that it was lovely.
The cottage was cosy, clean and well-equipped. Christina was very friendly and welcomed us with some delicious home made cream tea and gave us a tour of the cotrage. Despite the not so brilliant weather we had a lovely time thanks to the indoor pool and games room. The peacocks in the garden were a wonderful sight.
We would love to visit again. Thank you Christina!
Our first time visiting North Devon and Cornwall and we chose a beautiful weekend and a lovely place
The cottage was comfortable, cosy, clean and well-equipped. The owner kindly accommodated us at short notice and had everything ready for our arrival - including everything for a delicious home-made cream tea. The tour of the cottage helped us find everything we needed and the children were particularly impressed with the facilities in the games room, the play equipment in the garden and the indoor pool. It was great to have so much to do on the site but we were also really well placed for exploring the local area. The collection of brochures and local maps in the cottage helped us decide what to do and we enjoyed three sunny, fun days visiting Bude, Ilfracombe, Woolacombe and Westwood Ho! as well as a fantastic visit to the Wake Lake at the Milky Way park.
Our host could not have done more for us and we had a great stay.
Lovely cottage, Devon Sept 18
