It has an open plan living area with a welcoming wood burner to snuggle up in front of after a busy day out exploring the spectacular Yorkshire coast and countryside, and upon arrival you will be welcomed with a lovely welcome pack with tea, coffee and biscuits. The picturesque village of Thornton le Dale is located on the edge of the North York Moors, a mere one mile from Pickering. From here you can take a ride on the famous steam train to Grosmont, Goathland (aka Aidensfield in the classic TV series Heartbeat) and the seaside town of Whitby where you can climb the 199 steps to Whitby Abbey. Those looking for a quieter pace of life may prefer to walk the many footpaths and bridleways over the North York Moors.

Great position in village, within seconds of walking you arrive at Thornton Beck (stream) that meanders through the village where you can see the reknowned Beck Isle thatched cottage. Cottage has secure parking and is within minutes of the village centre. If you like ice cream visit the popular ice cream parlour on your way into the village centre. For car buffs pop into Mathewson classic car auctions and museum. There are adequate shops and two pubs also within minutes walking distance of the cottage. There are plenty of walks to go on around the Village most Of which we covered with our dog going as far as Ellerburn. The cottage is a great touring base and we drove out to visit Milton, Pickering, Whitby and Scarborough. The drive to Whitby took us through the picturesque North Yorkshire moors which are scenic and well worth a visit. We would like to thank Paul for welcoming us and for the welcome packs for us and for our dog. This is one of the best cottage stays that we have had in respect of welcome, the cottage itself and the location for both walks in and around the village and ease of driving out to north Yorkshire Villages and Towns. Highly recommended and so enjoyable I felt that I should take the time to give this positive feedback. Thanks again to Paul for his assistance and welcome. Beautiful cottage, excellent location. Advertised as having first logs free but didn’t get any, could have done with some general glasses as only had 2 wine glasses, bed too soft for me but you can’t please everyone, really enjoyed it and would go again, great having garden for the dog, pleasant owner 😀

We would highly recommend Cherry Blossom cottage.
We would highly recommend Cherry Blossom cottage. It is beautiful, clean and very comfortable. It was nice to find a dog friendly cottage that was so well maintained and equipped. The garden is fully fenced and has nice seating areas. We had a lovely welcome from the owners. Thornton le Dale is a lovely place to visit. There are plenty of walking trails, good cafes and places to eat. We would recommend the New Inn for excellent food. Most places have dog friendly areas. Even the local fish and chip shop/café let you take the dog with you. The local bus service is an excellent way to visit nearby towns and cities. Again we could take the dog on the buses. Fabulous holiday thanks to the owners.
