About this property

This lovely detached guest cottage features a queen-sized bed, full kitchen, and full bathroom. It is part of a larger tree covered two acre property with 254 feet of frontage on Mill Pond. Although called a "pond", Mill Pond has a six-foot tide twice-a-day from the ocean. Guests are welcome to use the fire pit and patio by Mill Pond. The unit sleeps 2 adults in the Queen-Sized bed. We also have a pack and play that guests with a small child can use free of charge. One covered parking space is also included. The unit has heat, air conditioner, wireless internet and a TV with DVD and Netflix/Amazon.

Fabulous Getaway!

We had an amazing time at Tom and Celeste's cottage - description and pictures are spot on, and the property is a peaceful respite after a long day. This property gets 5 star reviews for a reason - we hope to be back again in the near future!

Beautiful place

We had a great time staying in the cottage. It’s cozy, clean, and has everything you need for two people. But the highlight of this property is the location, right on peaceful Mill Pond. There are Adirondack chairs,a fire-pit, and a picnic table next to the lake that guests can use to relax or eat by the water. The host, Tom, was kind and responsive. Highly recommended base for a Maine vacation.

Time for R&R

Wanting a place that was located conveniently and quiet, I found this listing and knew it would be a good fit. The cottage has a wonderful view of the Mill Pond, a special place I always visit when I'm in Maine....Ocean Point is just down the road too! Bed was very comfy, the kitchen had everything I needed although I really didn't cook there because I had to visit all my favorite local restaurants and chow down on Maine lobster! The only drawback was the patio doors which did not lock properly but I understand that's on the off season list. The owners were welcoming and helpful. I'd definitely consider the cottage for my next visit home.

Delightful Cottage

The owners were friendly and responsive to questions. The cottage was a delightful! It was very clean and nicely decorated. The owners had unlocked the door and opened a few windows and even had fresh flowers on the table. Very sweet & welcoming owners and cottage! Highly Recommend! Linda

Tom and Celeste hail from Louisiana and had been visiting Maine for over 20 years before deciding to buy in 2013. They enjoy hiking, boating, exploring, eating seafood, farmer's markets, festivals, shopping, and most of all, the people of Maine. In their spare time they help run a community theatre and visit their far flung kids and grandchildren.

Why they chose this property

We bought the property in 2013 because it checked off so many items on our "perfect vacation home" checklist. We fell in love with the tree-filled two acre lawn with frontage on Mill Pond. The historic East Boothbay General Store is 100 yards up the street and features wonderful sandwiches, pizza, morning pastries and coffee. Walk another five minutes and you can have and drink or eat at the Lobsterman's Wharf with its deck over the Damariscotta river. A short walk down the street takes you to Linekin Bay where there are beautiful views out to the ocean.

What makes this property unique

The big, tree shaded lawn a view of Mill Pond makes for such a tranquil area to rest and rejuvenate after a busy day out and about. We have a brick area with chairs, a fire pit, and a picnic table for your use. Whether you eat your lunch out by the pond, have an evening cocktail enjoying golden hour, or just making s'mores at the fire, we know you'll enjoy yourself.
