Why they chose this property

The picturesque and historic Levidi is located in the center of Arcadia and is built at an altitude of 860 meters, on the eastern side, at the foot of the Mainalo vineyard. In ancient times it was called "Orchomenos Chora", which justified its name with its rich archaeological finds that survive to this day.
The municipality of Levidi, based in Levidi, consists of the following villages and settlements: Vlacherna, Dara, Kandila, Kardaras, Komi, Limni, Orchomenos, Palaiopyrgos, Panagitsa and Chotousa. Levidis is 25 km from Tripoli and has a population of approximately 1.140 inhabitants.
There are many versions of the place name, such as the name of an old landowner or the son of the King of Arcadia Lycaona and other versions.
Levididis played a leading role in Greek history and is loaded with monuments of history, culture and tradition. On April 14, 1821, the battle of Levidion took place, where chieftain Anagnostos Striftombolas, along with 70 other Greeks, faced the attack of 3,000 Turks and demolished them, dying the same day in this glorious battle.
In the town of Levidia, great personalities such as Alexandros Papanastasiou, who was the founder of the "Democratic Union" in 1922, were born and worked. He is considered the father of the republic's republic and the initiator of the newer agricultural policy. The great politician was a minister several times before he was appointed prime minister of Greece in 1924 - 1932, while he was a partner and friend of Eleftherios Venizelos.
Another great personality of Levidius was Orchomenos Thersilaus, who founded the Bouleuterion in the "Arcadia community" with the center of Megalopolis in 370 BC.
The majestic town of Levidi will impress you with its stone-built houses, built in the middle of the 19th century and with its lively square. The mountainous, leafy village of Levidi has at its entrance a beautiful forest that shows the visitor his true identity and idyllic natural landscape.
