If you are visiting SF and like the ocean, you must visit Ocean Beach on your stay. It is a 3.5 mile stretch of white sand beach with few tourists and no high rises. It's just you and the waves, sand, and seabirds at Ocean Beach, on the westernmost border of San Francisco, adjacent to Golden Gate Park. It's a world class surf spot, when it's good. It's a very challenging spot, not typically for beginners but there are other spots nearby that are great for beginners.
Location: We are one block from the beach. Around the corner is a nice cluster of merchants including Noriega Pizza Place (yum), The Devil’s Teeth Bakery, Gus’s Organic Market, and Establish Boutique, Yonkers Café, and Papa Mak’s Burgers. Another couple blocks away you’ll find award winning dining such as Outer Lands, Nah Trang, Trouble Coffee, and Andy Town Coffee Roasters. It’s easy to park and also easy to get downtown via public transport or Uber. There is great biking nearby in Golden Gate Park. We are a 15 min walk to the SF zoo.
Lodging: This is the lower flat of a two unit building. We have two bedrooms. Each has a fluffy comforter, and closet space. The main area is an open layout consisting of a dining room with a large table (seats 8), living room with large west-facing windows, and a fully equipped kitchen. There is an electric air mattress for two additional guests. The bathroom has a stand-up shower stall and a tub. We can provide linens and towels for six.
Additional Amenities: We have a backyard that is great for outdoor meals or hangouts. There is a Weber gas grill, picnic table, and outdoor dining supplies. We also have an outdoor hot shower to rinse off after the beach and a hot tub.
