Nice home in a great location
Beautiful property situated very close to Siena and an easy drive to Florence and other towns in Tuscany. It's also nice to have access to the pool especially when there is no air-conditioning in the house. We were there in early July and the temperatures soared to 100 degrees Fahrenheit. The town of San Rocco a Pilli is very small but there is a Co-op supermarket and good restaurants. The property was a bit tough to find though. The GPS took us to a property next to a mausoleum / graveyard. Also, the house is actually divided into triplex so you are not getting the entire building but a portion of it. However, our part of the building was big enough and comfortable for the six of us.
I did have trouble communicating with Luca as he did not seem to get the messages I sent him through HomeAway but when he did respond, he was very informative. His lovely wife Leticia was very helpful and came to check on us almost every day.
We took day trips to Florence and Siena and was able to relax poolside at the end of the (very hot) day. We enjoyed our stay at Casalta.
Great location out in the country side of beautiful Toscana. Home is beautiful,! If you need to travel to Sienna it’s a 15 minute car ride. All other attractions 40-60 minute car ride. A must is Panzano in Chianti , visit Dario Cecchini , Antica Macellaio. Lucca and his family were so very nice . Anything you needed they were there for you . Wonderful experience in such a beautiful place.
thanks a lot all the best

A Gem Just Outside Siena
My family of 6 women stayed here and it was phenomenal. Beautiful house with a gorgeous pool in a quaint area 15 minutes outside of the city center (you do need a car to get around). Centrally located so we were able to do day trips to Florence and San Gimignano and visit some lovely wineries in Chianti. Luca and his family were incredibly warm and helpful - arranging wine tours, yoga classes and recommending excellent restaurants. The only small complaint is the lack of AC - but having the pool made that bearable. We would come back to this property in a heartbeat.
I will provide for the A/C thanks a lot all the best
completely wonderful. exceeded expectations
owners are lovely, and the property is excellent: clean, spacious, centrally located, great kitchen, laundry on site, plenty of space to be alone or to be together... 1 mile from town which was a quaint area with bakery, market, church and bar/ restaurants. we traveled from Cinque Terre by car ( about 2 hours) , stopped in Lucca for lunch and a bike ride before heading to Tuscany. owners are great cooks and great hosts!
(careful to arrive before night -the GPS struggled a bit - there is a large cemetery /mausoleum about 3 blocks from the property and this would have been a good mile-marker for identifying that we were within a few blocks of the property)
Heaven in Tuscany
Thank you Luca, Lutizia, and Mama Luca. What a great and wonderful time. Quiet, comfortable, relaxing, and beautiful. You need a car to get around. The COOP store in town has everything you need including great steaks and chops and pasta that we made at the villa thanks to Mama Lucca helping us start the great outdoor grill. We can't say enough thank you's to Lucca for taking us on a wonderful tour to Montepulciano and La Foce Gardens. It was awesome. Thank you for a trip we will never forget.
Luca and letticia were wonderful hosts. The rental was very nice
thanks al lot enjoy at Lerici
The resort is located in the middle of the Sienese hills. The area, called Val di Merse, was settled in prehistoric times from pre-Etruscan, unspoiled nature preserves. In the Middle Ages this area was a hive of churches, monasteries and forts, which are mentioned among the Cistercian Abbey of San Galgano many dating from the early thirteenth century. A short distance away we meet: 7 km Siena, San Gimignano 50 km, Pienza 60 km, 10 km the Crete Senesi, heritage sites recognized by UNESCO. Also nearby we Murlo 5 km village of Etruscan origin, Monteriggioni and 15 km the famous medieval castle by Dante (Inf. XXXI, 41), Colle di Val d 'Elsa, 20 km the world capital of the crystal with its center perfectly preserved, Montepulciano 65 km, 50 km land of Brunello Montalcino, Chianti, with its villages, farms, castles and vineyards. Besides these places, universally known, who is less interested in the routes frequented by tourists, but no less fascinating and suggestive, it can reach (by bicycle): the Abbey of St. Galgano and the Chapel of Montesiepi, the Cloister of the Abbey towers, the churches in Rosia, Ponte allo Spino, Molli, Marmoraia, Pievescola, Mensano Lecceto and the hermitages of S. Leonardo al Lago, the castles of Montarrenti, Celsa, Belcaro, medieval village of Stigliano. For these locations we can arrange guided tours, wine tasting. For total relaxation are present in the immediate vicinity, spa, SPA Budha. Golf Course.
