UNFORGETTABLE Week in Tuscany
We spent an unforgettable week in this Villa - The Hosts, the Villa, the Property, the Views, and the Location -- all fantastic!
The HOSTS. Luca and Letizia are beyond fabulous, amazing, and hospitable. They are genuine, huge hearted, and they really want their guests to have a great time at the Villa and around Tuscany. The minute we stepped onto the property, Letizia, who is so sweet, greeted us, asked us how our trip had been going, and then showed us around the Villa. Then Luca arrived. He is a big presence - huge smile, exuberant, and funny. Both Letizia and Luca went out of their way to make our visit unforgettable. For example, we asked about a good winery visit and Luca immediately got on the phone and arranged it for us the next day at a nice, higher-end winery that included a tour and an AMAZING lunch afterward. Letizia even lead us there in her car because she was worried we would get lost (it's an HOUR away). Unbelievable. Two other major highlights: Luca cooked a delicious dinner for us on the first night and he and Letizia taught us how to make Pizza and we cooked it in the pizza oven on site. All of us agree that Luca and Letizia made the trip!
The Villa. We stayed at Le Rose and it is just fantastic. Luca is not only an architect, he does everything else you can imagine. Letizia does the decorating and all the beautiful little touches you see in every room. Here are the highlights of the Villa: the kitchen is extremely well stocked, the water pressure is great with plenty of hot water, the bedrooms are quite large, there are plenty of bathrooms and showers, the living room is spacious and open, the electronics are very modern, and the feel of the Villa is just comfort.
The Property. There are many highlights to this property but here are a few: a fabulous pool with nice furniture and an iPhone plug in for music, a large whirlpool, a beautiful pizza oven Luca built, outdoor dining furniture, a secure entry gate, lots of herbs and flowers, and a huge ice maker in the room under the pool!
The Views. We spent every evening back at the Villa sipping wine, hanging out in the pool area, nibbling on snacks, and watching the sunsets. The area surrounding the Villa is quintessential Tuscany - olive trees, vineyards, and sunflower fields. Very peaceful!
The Location. The Villa is just went of Siena which is a great place to explore Tuscany - Siena, Assisi, Montepulciano, San Gimignano, etc.
you are wonderful person which we feel a component of our family (the best one like William) and it was a pleasure. we speak about you and we miss you.
have a nice time in Usa. And hope to see you soon!
Letizia and Luca
kiss at your pet!!!
Fantastic house. Great hosts. Highly recommend.
Casalta is a great place. We stayed 4 weeks & had friends visit. Luca & Letisia are terrific. They will help you in everything
The town has a great patisserie/cafe.
15 minutes from Siena. Great place to travel in car all around Tuscany. Drive or take train from Siena.
We will go back there next time we go to Tuscany.
Perfect stay in Tuscany!
We had the pleasure of staying 2 nights (we wish we had more time) at Casa Alta in San Rocco A Pilli in the Le Rose apartment. Luca and Letizia were SUPER hosts (even better than the Super Tuscany wine we drank). They went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Le Rose is spacious and the patio was a great place to have a nice meal.
We swam in the pool and soaked up the sun in the pool deck. While we rode the property's bikes into town (approximately 1.5 km), a rental car would be helpful to tool around. We hopped in taxis, or hitched rides with Luca (loved the Panda!).
We had a lovely wine tour arranged by Luca and had one of the best meals of our life. We recommend the pasta with truffles -- delizioso!!!
We shipped some of the wine back to the USA for what we felt was reasonable after shipping from other places.
Siena was quite close and we ate at 2 restaurants recommended to us by Luca- both really tasty.
Luca, thanks again for giving so much of your time and sharing your lovely home. We had wonderful stay and would definitely return☺
We had a too short visit in San Rocco a Pilli. Luca and Letizia are wonderful hosts. We stayed in the middle unit, La Rose. We were a group of 6. There are three rooms on the second floor, three double beds, one room has an extra single. The attic has a futon, and two singles. There is one bath in the attic, two on the second floor and one on the main floor. The accommodations are spotless, well decorated and comfortable. Luca is the architect who resurrected this 17th century barn. His creativity and vision are remarkable. The pool allows a splendid view of the countryside.
San Rocco a Pili has a good size grocery, a wonderful bakery, cafes and charm. It is a quick drive in to Siena and one hour to Florence. You are not far from many other lovely towns, wineries, thermal springs.
Luca speaks English very, very well. He is very helpful with suggestions and advice. I highly recommend this property for your holiday!
Can't wait to return!
Wonderful views! Welcome from Luca & Leticia was generous & kind. Your limoncello product is the best! Hope it travels well back to Canada!
We loved our Chianti wine/ luncheon tour! Thank you for arranging that Luca! Beautiful property!
have a good travel in Europa!
thanks a lot for your coming
Outstanding property, incredible hosts,
There are really not words to describe our 10 days in Tuscany at this beautiful, beautiful villa. My wife and I were guests of our kids and grandkids for our 50th wedding anniversary. The experience was indescribably wonderful, much of that attributable to this beautiful villa and our hosts, Luca and Letizia. We were in the villa on the right as you look at the picture, which sleeps 8. Luca, an architect, completely restored what was centuries ago a tobacco factory. It is spacious, open, beautifully restored and appointed -- comfortable in every way. Having read a review praising Luca for conducting a cooking class, we decided to do the same. Luca and Letizia, his beautiful wife, prepared an awesome dinner with our family helping -- the best risotto I have ever eaten, roast chicken, beef, wine and outstanding tiramasu for dessert. This evening with Luca and Letizia ranks at the top of the list of memorable Tuscany experiences, and that is saying something given the magnifence of the remainder of the trip. If you are going to Tuscany, do yourself a favor and arrange to stay here. You will, I am sure, have an experience as uniquely pleasurable as we did. thanks Luca, Letizia and, of course, William, their delightful American bulldog who will laugh about every time we are with the grandkids who joined us.
The resort is located in the middle of the Sienese hills. The area, called Val di Merse, was settled in prehistoric times from pre-Etruscan, unspoiled nature preserves. In the Middle Ages this area was a hive of churches, monasteries and forts, which are mentioned among the Cistercian Abbey of San Galgano many dating from the early thirteenth century. A short distance away we meet: 7 km Siena, San Gimignano 50 km, Pienza 60 km, 10 km the Crete Senesi, heritage sites recognized by UNESCO. Also nearby we Murlo 5 km village of Etruscan origin, Monteriggioni and 15 km the famous medieval castle by Dante (Inf. XXXI, 41), Colle di Val d 'Elsa, 20 km the world capital of the crystal with its center perfectly preserved, Montepulciano 65 km, 50 km land of Brunello Montalcino, Chianti, with its villages, farms, castles and vineyards. Besides these places, universally known, who is less interested in the routes frequented by tourists, but no less fascinating and suggestive, it can reach (by bicycle): the Abbey of St. Galgano and the Chapel of Montesiepi, the Cloister of the Abbey towers, the churches in Rosia, Ponte allo Spino, Molli, Marmoraia, Pievescola, Mensano Lecceto and the hermitages of S. Leonardo al Lago, the castles of Montarrenti, Celsa, Belcaro, medieval village of Stigliano. For these locations we can arrange guided tours, wine tasting. For total relaxation are present in the immediate vicinity, spa, SPA Budha. Golf Course.
