About Neil C. Cagle
My wife and I grew up in North Carolina and have lived in New Orleans since 1980. We continue to enjoy our journey through life having been married for 50 plus wonderful years. Our son lives in Valencia, Spain. North Carolina is the home of our daughter, son-in-law and our three grandchildrens. We enjoy working with real-estate, traveling, hunting and fishing.
Neil C. Cagle purchased this House in 2008
Why Neil C. Cagle chose Barataria
Deborah Ann was purchased with the intent to update and re-sale. But within a few days, we fell in love with the location and decided to keep it for ourselves and intermittently share it with others. Thanks to those that utilize VRBO, Homeaway, Rojas Fishing Charters and other locals, it has become a 'home away from home' for us as well as others.
What makes this House unique
Located on the Isle of Barataria, Deborah Ann offers all the comforts of home and is a perfect get-away place to experience southern living on a bayou however you want to spend it. Peace and tranquility for rest and relaxation, fishing, golfing, sightseeing, meetings and conferences, sports events, festivals or just a vacation to the New Orleans area. You will enjoy the comfort of a 'home' - not a hotel room!!
No swimming is allowed.
100% refund if cancelled at least 30 days before arrival date. 50% refund if cancelled at least 14 days before arrival date.
The house was a great location, close to my son who is stationed in Belle Chasse. Very clean and had everything that we needed while we stayed there. Thank you
First Time to New Orleans
This place is everything the VRBO listing says it is! We enjoyed our stay tremendously!!
Quiet and enjoyable stay for these Clemson Tigers
Just as advertised! We were in town from Clemson SC for the National Championship game against LSU. We decided to stay away from the city of NO for a different experience. It was a quick trip into the city. And it was so quiet! Granted, it was January! We only saw a couple of people in the houses around us in 4 days. We enjoyed seeing many dolphin during breakfast at Da Barge and enjoyed a delicious dinner at Voleo's. We lost the game but most LSU fans treated us graciously. We enjoyed our visit!
I liked it.
I am not the kind of person who will give a juicy review. I am a simple man who likes or doesn't like something. Overall, I liked it, clean and quiet neighborhood 30 minutes drive to the French Quarter.
Great stay on Deborah Ann
This was our 12th to 14th fishing trip to Lafitte. First time to stay at Neil’s property but probably the nicest we have encountered. Place was immaculate inside and out and well stocked. Even soap, shampoo, and sun screen which we have never been provided. And many thanks to Neil working with us on dates because of medical issues on our end. You will not be disappointed with this property. We hope to stay on future trips if available. Thanks again Neil!!
Great place to stay
Great location with easy access to New Orleans. The place was very clean and exactly as shown on the listing. Our fishing charter picked us up and dropped us off right at the house. We had a great trip and enjoyed our stay at the house. We would definitely stay here again.
The island of Barataria offers great fresh and salt water fishing, water sports and is approx. 27 miles from downtown New Orleans. A comfortable rental home for those who wish to relax after a day of fishing, attending sport events, like the annual PGA Golf Zurick Classic, football at the New Orleans Superdome, basketball at the arena or visiting the French Quarter, shopping, Mardi Gras, New Orleans 's Jazz Fest or any other festivals within the greater New Orleans area.
