Horse Riding – just across the Alpine Way…you will see this on your way to our house....Thredbo Valley Horse rides
Walks and hikes – check out Kosciuszko National Parks web which has a lot of detail on walks – try the Thredbo Valley Track which is suitable for walking and bike riding and starts at Lake Crackenback resort which is about a 5-min drive from us....Thredbo Valley Bike & Walking Trail
This is about a 20-min drive from us just follow along the Alpine Way and is a great place to go summer or winter …there is an in-door pool, bike rides, bob sled and you can ride a chair lift up to the beginning of the walk to Mt. Kosciusko
Mt. Kosciuszko - walk to the top of Australia
This is a great walk and you can do this either from Thredbo Village or drive to Charlottes Pass through Perisher and commence the walk there.
About Andrea Forsyth
For many years we traveled between Sydney and the Snowy, hubby Greg loves to ski and so does our daughter. We decided we should try a tree change and bought the White House & lived here and ran our house as a guest house until a business opportunity came up in Sydney and we relocated back to Sydney for work. Our son moved in ran the guest house for us and did a great job until the bright lights of Canberra enticed him away to another business adventure. Finally after many years we have now returned to the White House and are enjoying all the wonderful things on offer in this region....Greg is enjoying the snow fun in winter, as for me I am loving the rural scene and enjoying the great walks in summer.
Andrea Forsyth purchased this house in 2004
Why Andrea Forsyth chose Crackenback
We jumped at the chance to buy the White House, it is unique in that is 5 acres of rural enjoyment but we are close to the township of Jindabyne and the ski fields for access is great for winter. Properties don't come up very often in this location so we thought we should to do jump in to the rural life .... we think it is one of the best decisions we made.
What makes this house unique
We love the fact that we are on 5 rural acres with breathtaking views and sometimes even snow covered. The house is warm with the underfloor heating so it is delight in winter to just enjoy.
