Why Susan Wilson chose Princeville
'THE COTTAGE' is one-of-a-kind NON-HOTEL ... BUT with hotel views and privacy and comfort and convenience ... and ... at a very great price compared to what the St. Regis at Princeville charges for a room with a view.
What makes this Cottage unique
Convenience, coupled with the WOW factor Kick + Surprise every time you open 'The Cottage' door, or, when you pop out for snorkeling at Anini reef just below at lovely, secluded, sandy Kaweonui beach cove, or, take a great warm outdoor shower, or, walk the neighborhood, or, ... do any one of the variety of adventures all of which can easily be topped off with a sit/soak in the private large comfortable spa sipping a glass of bubbly. The list goes on and on and on-- in a good way!

Beautiful space right on the ocean
We stayed at this property for just over a week. The view is absolutely incredible. We made use of the hot tub and the grill and enjoyed the quick hike down to the beach.
The space itself is a studio with small kitchenette. You can also make use of a full size fridge in the attached garage. We stocked up on groceries and didn't find the limited space to be a problem.
Mahalo nui loa for your comments. Thank you for mentioning what a 'non-studio', 'The Cottage on Kaweonoui Point' really is. In actuality, the gated enclosed front atrium, good sized attached glass-fronted enclosed rear lanai w/outdoor shower, lounge chaise and chairs, plus, the large second lanai w/spa, sunning benches, and lounge chairs, plus, the attached large garage w/tall open beam ceiling, W/D, full refrige (plus another refrig under-counter in the unit), beach equipment, etc., more than doubles the spacious main living space. Like you've done, guests often mention enjoying 'The Cottage's' total 'spaciousness' which goes well beyond a 'studio' accommodation.
Me Ke Aloha,,
Soooo worth it! (Forget the facy hotel rates)
When booking my 50th birthday treat, I was a bit hesitant because I know Princeville is a resort development, and I just wanted to relax with my husband. I asked some friends who live on the island about the area, and they said, "No Worries."
Were they ever correct.
This place is amazing. The view is amazing and the vibe so peaceful that is was hard to get me to leave and explore the places I most look forward to on the island.
Not only was the unit clean and well-supplied, but we had a washer/dryer, full fridge, microwave, gas grill, coffee maker, etc. (Since it was my vacation, I didn't need the full kitchen of a condo. What we got was more than enough.)
This is to say nothing of the private, full-sized, outdoor hot tub with a view down the coast to the Kilauea Lighthouse, the fabulous outdoor shower, and the incredible second deck area with a direct ocean view filled with swooping albatross, honking Nene geese, and far-off frigate birds riding the trade winds without even a flap.
We were lucky in that we had very good weather and the ocean was clean and swimmable everywhere, but I must admit, the rainy day was almost my favorite. I loved snuggling up in the world's most comfortable bed, reading a good book and watching the rain squalls make their way down the coast and out to sea-to say nothing of the joy of sitting naked in a hot tub with big, beautiful rain drops falling on our heads.
If you want something spectacular, rent this place.

Paradise in Princeville
We can’t say enough kind words about Susan and her beautiful place. Our stay was in March and I can honestly say this is one of the few places that we look forward to visiting again. The cottage is well appointed and we were very comfortable during our stay. Open all the windows and enjoy a refreshing breeze that compliments the amazing view. All in all, you won’t be disappointed in choosing the cottage for your stay. Thank you so very much Susan!
It was such a pleasure having you vacation in ‘The Cottage on Kaweonui Point’. You were lovely guests ... kind, generous, helpful, considerate, fun, curious. Wiki wiki (hurry, hurry) on back.
Me Ke Aloha,,
We stayed here for 5 days for our 40th anniversary. It’s a great location with plenty of privacy in a residential area on the North Shore. The cottage faces roughly northeast, so we could watch the sunrise each morning.
Several nearby nesting Albatross visited our front yard one evening. We could see whales from the lanai on a couple of days (in late-February).
The cottage is a studio-style, with a large bedroom/living room area. The kitchen is quite small, but fit our needs fine. The bathroom area is good size. We used the outdoor shower several times.
Although there is no air conditioning, this was never a problem for us, as the vented panels on two sides allowed for more than enough airflow. In fact, we had less than half the vents open.
Very convenient to North Shore areas from Hanalei to Kilauea Point (where we saw more whales and lots of interesting birds too). It was about a 40 minute drive from Lihue.
Princeville itself is mostly residential; there is not a big restaurant/shopping area, (compared for example to Kapaa on the east shore). But the Foodland is good for groceries/supplies, and we had very nice lunches in nearby Hanalei and Kilauea.
Susan, who lives in the adjacent house, was very helpful with suggestions about the area.
Lovely, thoughtful, gracious, helpful remarks. Mahalo and wiki wiki (hurry, hurry). Hele (return) on back.

Wonderful site, beautiful views
We very much enjoyed our stay at The Cottage. Though located in an upscale sub division, the Cottage is utterly private and isolated...it overlooks tropical woods and grand vistas of the ocean...lovely sounds of waves. There are two very private and quiet decks for reading, cocktails and hot tubbing. The cottage itself is very well equipped...many extra towels, bug spray, shampoo, beach chairs, snorkeling equipment, etc etc. The owner is friendly and helpful...pointed out the local albatross in the front shrubbery. Kitchen is very small...more of a kitchenette but fine for breakfast and lunch and carry out. A really lovely quiet beautiful spot.
Mahalo for the gracious, helpful, honest, appreciative, smile-making, i e, —- I’m smiling as I write this response. Wiki wiki hele mai (Hawaiian = hurry back)!
Me Ke Aloha,
The Cottage is peaceful and serene, and the view is incredible.
We were so happy to be able to stay at the Cottage for four nights. It is so private, yet everything we wanted to do was easily accessible. Sitting in the hot tub at sunrise or at night, gazing at the expanse of stars, was magical. We hope and plan to return.
The pleasure of sharing the beauty and peace of sweet Kauai was my privilege. Hou’i Makahiki. Mahalo nui loa.
