Map
Doonan is only 10 kms and 10 minutes drive from the Noosa River and Noosaville but seems more like a million miles away when relaxing away from the people and traffic. Set in a very peaceful relaxing area of the Noosa Hinterland with beautiful views of the valley. Enjoy nature and the views relaxing no the day beds or hammock on the deck and you will probably get a visit from the friendly Kookaburra who often pops in to say hi. There is so much to see and do in the area - below are a few ideas.
All the magnificent beaches - Noosa, Sunshine Beach, Peregian and Coolum are all within a 15 minute drive. A walk around the Noosa National Park is a must for any visitor and a cool off swim along the way is very refreshing at one of the picturesque coves.
A visit to the North Shore beaches via the car ferry at Tewantin is a great day out. You can drive all the way up the beach to Rainbow Beach and Inskip Point.
Hire a boat for the day and leisurely take a trip up the Noosa River through the Everglades to Boreen Point.
Visit the historic towns of Cooroy and Pomona. Stroll around the beautiful botanic gardens at Lake MacDonald or feeling a little more adventurous - climb Mount Timberwah - a 1 km mild walk and climb to appreciate the breathtaking views of Noosa or Mt Panorama with 360 views of the coast and hinterland (only a couple of minutes drive away).
Close to the renowned Eumundi Market where you will find some amazing arts, crafts and organic food. Noosa is renown for both amazing world class restaurants and great shopping. You will always find some unique items at the boutique shops along Hastings Street, Noosa Junction and the Noosaville River. There are so many brilliant restaurants to get your taste buds going - there is never enough time to try them all. Only a couple of kms from Galway House is Orange on Sunrise, great pizza restaurant and also Cafe Doonan offering fresh home grown cooking in a beautiful outdoors setting. Both are pet friendly.
If you want to venture a little further afield, the picturesque towns of Montville and Maleny and the Kondalilla National Park is always worth a visit.
Otherwise close to home is the Noosa Valley Country Club, a 5 minute drive away - a beautiful golf course located in the Noosa Hinterland Valley.
Whatever you choose to do and see, you will be amazed at how beautiful the Noosa area is and has to offer.

Why Liz Cunneen chose Doonan
Galway House is located in the picturesque hinterland area of Noosa on a ridge with valley views of Mt Cooroy and distant views of Noosa. The fully fenced 2 acre tropical garden is the perfect location for you and your furry friends to relax and enjoy the peaceful and quiet tranquility of the hinterland, but only a 10-15 minute drive to be amongst some of the best beaches, restaurants, cafes and shopping Australia has to offer. Great to enjoy all the best Noosa can offer but being able to come home to relax away form the hustle bustle of the tourist hub - Galway House offers the best of both worlds.
What makes this house unique
Sitting or laying back and taking in the views of the garden and property from the gazebo or on the wide decks from the day bed or the hammock is so relaxing. Enjoying the afternoon breezes or the winter sun with a good book, a glass of wine or a nanna nap - nothing better. The spacious open plan kitchen/ dining/ living area - the perfect place for entertaining and cooking up a feast with your family and friends. High ceilings, ceiling fans and cedar sliding doors opening onto the wide decks gives a feeling of incredible light and openness. In winter cuddle up and enjoy a romantic time in front of the combustion wood heater. And not to forget the amazing 2 fully fenced tropical acres for the furry members of the family - they will love sniffing and exploring and then chilling out in the sun on the deck.
