The Old Bus Shed, Currarong

Bedrooms 4
Space 250 m²
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 - 6 nights

About the property

Large, contemporary beach house with stunning coastal views

A modern take on classic Currarong fibro, the Old Bus Shed allows you to enjoy sweeping views of the coast from the comfort of a contemporary home.

The house has plenty of space for two families, with:

-2 large living spaces

-a large deck with dining table, BBQ and ocean views

-2 king-sized bedrooms

-1 queen-sized bedroom

-a bunk room with 4 singles

-three bathrooms (one with a large bath)

In summer, enjoy the views from the deck in between dips in the sea. If you're feeling energetic, jump on one of our bikes to explore the town or take a kayak or wave ski out for a paddle.

In winter, look for dolphins or whales from the cosy comfort of the upper living area.

Step out the back door and there's another surprise: the original building that gives the property its name. These days it's a renovated living space with soaring ceilings, furnished with a 12-seater dining table and comfy day beds.

The Old Bus Shed opens onto an enormous, grassy reserve that is the perfect place for kids to play when you've had enough of the beach.

About Adrian

We've stayed in holiday homes around the world and have set up The Old Bus Shed inspired by the best and worst of those experiences. We hope that you'll feel at home as soon as you step in the front door.

Why Adrian chose Currarong

We've been holiday in Currarong for over a decade and love giving others the chance to see just how magical it is.

There's nowhere else this close to Sydney that has ready access to such a choice of pristine beaches.

What makes this house unique

This property is a particular delight for gourmet travellers.

If you love your food and coffee, you won't find a beach house better than this, with a top-notch coffee machine, sharp knives, great appliances, plenty of pots and pans and a pantry stocked with herbs, spices, cookbooks and condiments. We also provide tips on where to go for local gourmet supplies.

Great Views and Well Appointed

  • 5 of 5

We had the pleasure of staying at the Old Bus Shed with two other couples and it was excellent in every respect. The photos on the listing don't really show just how good this place is. The upstairs living area, with dining area and a good size deck has great sea views and is an ideal place for lunch or a BBQ. The bedrooms are all a good size and the beds were comfortable. We understand that the property has recently been updated and frankly it was faultless. We wouldn't look anywhere else if this property was available for our next stay.

The perfect holiday rental

  • 5 of 5

We stayed here with 2 families for a week in January. The property is amazing, unlike any holiday rental I've stayed in before. Everything has been thought of, from insect repellent to a gourmet kitchen with a pantry stocked with 40 spices and spirits! Having a bbq on the deck looking over the waves was fantastic. The kids loved using the paddle board and kayaks. Could have easily fitted a 3rd family. Overall it was everything I could have asked for and more. We will be back!

Fantastic house

  • 5 of 5

There is nothing not to like about the Old Bus Shed. We stayed here with another family and were very comfortable. The house has a lovely view, is very close to the beach & cafe, has an extremely well equipped kitchen with good quality utensils, making our holiday an even better experience. I would have been happy never to have left the house! We will definitely be back!

Currarong Beach

Other Activities:

Prime south coast location.

Currarong is in a unique position, tucked inside the northern headland of Jervis Bay and surrounded by bush.

The water is generally calm, crystal clear and full of sea life, including whales in migration from May to November.

Across the road from the house is Currarong Creek (a great place for little kids) and Warrain Beach, which stretches some 14km to Culburra.

A short walk away is Abraham's Bosom Beach, a pristine beach surrounded by rock platforms and native vegetation.

Abraham's Bosom is also the starting point for walking tracks on Beecroft Headland, with access to more beaches and the remains of a shipwreck.

If you don't mind a short drive, in less than 10 minutes you can be on one of the amazing, often deserted Jervis Bay beaches such as Honeymoon Bay, Long Beach or Cabbage Tree.

Currarong also offers a skateboard ramp, children's playground and tennis courts.
