Relaxation on the bay

  • 5 of 5

Ten lovely days at Ednas. After a tricky start I spent ten relaxing nights at Ednas. The view to the bay is lovely and the house is very comfortable with both modern and vintage touches. Ednas is a great base to explore the beautiful beaches of Vincentia and it was lovely to return to the house to enjoy a G and T on the front or back vernandah. Warren and Beth have created a little paradise that they are kindly sharing with me and others. Thanks both!

The property was located in a lovely peaceful spot backing straight onto the basin/bay.

Stunning property in a peaceful setting

  • 5 of 5

Edna's is a beautiful, tastefully appointed house with a cosy wood fireplace. The large backyard leads directly down to St George's Basin, views of which can be seen from throughout the house. The hospitality of the owners (and their friendly dog) always makes our stay. We have been back four times now and looking forward to our next visit.

Bad experience

  • 1 of 5

We chose this to have waterfront access but the owners daughter her boyfriend and their dog were staying in the boathouse right on the waters edge . And we weren't told of this. So much for enjoying the backyard . We had some friends drop around who had kids and the owner came knocking on our door saying the property says -strictly no kids -I mean what ??? The dog kept coming in every time the screen door was ajar and we had to collect his poop otherwise we would have been standing in it ! A bad week !

Owner's Response: We are unsure why it has taken four and a half years for Peter’s comments to be posted on the STAYZ website. While it is no longer possible to check the details of his booking on STAYZ, our email records show that he booked initially for 3 nights and extended to 4, not a week as he states. At that time, our STAYZ entry clearly stated that Edna’s was not really suitable for children, so Peter should have been aware of that fact when he booked. We do recall that he erected a tent on the property without consulting us first. During the 10 years we have been holiday letting Edna’s, our other guests, many of whom have had repeat bookings, have used and enjoyed the extensive waterfront regardless of our family members using a boatshed from time to time.

Lovely place, amazing view on the basin, direct access to the water and very welcoming. The decoration is tasteful and many delicate objects let us think that this house have a real history. A very good accommodation to enjoy Jervis Bay, its national park, beaches, shops and restaurants. Will be back with pleasure!

Absolutely gorgeous. I wish that we could have stayed longer so that we could have spent more time in the house as well as out in that beautiful part of the world. Everything was thoughtfully provided and arranged.
