Terrible experience. Avoid! No power when we arrived (due to a storm, so this was understandable) but then when we returned to accommodation later in the night, we had NO RUNNING WATER. After calling owners 10 + times, they finally answered & fixed water, only for it to stop working again through the night. Fixed again in the morning, but stopped working again before we could all shower. Couldn't even flush the toilet. Whole house was dirty, dusty & musty. Horrible smell. Bed did not smell clean. Dead bugs everywhere. TV didn't work. No soap provided in shower. Very outdated & run down. Certainly not worth the high price paid. Very poor / rude communication from owners. They put us in a different house without a kitchen (which we required). No compensation offered. Oh well. It's not my business that's going down the drain. Get ready for lies in the owners response ;)

Owner's Response: We embrace all feedback with relevant responses. There is no reason for us to lie, as you put it. That sort of comment induces you are trying to cover up the truth. I would like to remove the fact from fiction. We refer back to your stay during cyclone Debbie, not a storm as you imply, on the date of the 1st of April for a one night stay. On that given morning we put in a courtesy call to you at around 9:30 indicating we had lost power in the middle in the night and was unaware when the power would come back on. You indicated you were coming to a wedding and still needed the accommodation. We then indicated that the cottage you were checking in the guests obviously were unable to wash the dishes in the morning. We asked since you were coming to a wedding did you need cooking facilities, if not we can transfer you to the main guest house entirely to yourselves to the value of $780.00 as appose to $275.00 and you said yes as you did not require such, if not we would get the cottage ready for you. We gave you the option to cancel with full refund however either or in order to make your stay more comfortable in such a major disaster hired in a generator, gave you a 12:00 check in and it ended up you were more guests than were indicated for the cottage, but no Biggy. You left for the wedding at 2:00 and returned at 10:00 as you had indicated when 2 staff members where here to check on the generator. At 1:00am you text and said the water wasn’t working, with no emergency indicated. At 6:10 am Chris attended to the generator as it had run out of petrol and remained in the office with the door open right beside your room for assistance. You never approached him to indicate issues. After your departure you said you guest had food poisoning and had to retrieve water from the pool to flush the toilet during the night and how uncomfortable your stay was. Not once was this made apparent to us other than your 1:00 am text. Not once did you call us with this urgency and phone records can prove such. Not only that we had to discover that your additional guests in our beautiful bridal suite guest kid soils the furniture without an apology, left soiled nappies all over not even in bins, which incurred additional cleaning on our behalf, which we did not charge you which most places would have. On two points, firstly the house is not dated, if you view the pictures of décor, it’s called French Province, secondly, I’m sure the whole of South east Qld smelt a little damp after the rain. Thank you for your feedback almost a month later.
