Spacious and comfortable
My teenage daughter and I plus our two dogs booked just a few days before visiting over the Canberra Day long weekend. We did have some issues with Homeaway asking for payment twice after we had paid, not sure what was going on there.
John emailed us the morning of our arrival with very detailed instructions as to how to find and gain access to the house as well as few other things.
The house is well constructed and offered lots of space inside and out.
The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen offered all the necessities (no dishwasher). The internet was fantastic (better than home!) but we did have no luck getting Netflix to work properly (not sure if it was us or the technology).
The house has a huge deck with a hammock available for use.
For those with dogs with a tendency to escape there are some gaps in the fences, so be aware of that.
Congo is a delightful little village out of the way and therefore exceptionally quiet. The beach was beautiful and relatively easy to access although you need to be able to go up and down some steps.
If you are after all the mod cons this probably isn’t the house for you, but if you want a house that is well situated and has plenty of space in and out, this is a great option.
Recently stayed at the house with my partner and we found it to be a great location to get away from it all. The deck was a great place to sit and relax, and just enjoy the quiet. It is just a short walk to the beach and doing the loop around takes about 30 minutes. The fire was great and worked very well, as it was still a little cool of an evening. The house is not fancy but is rather quite comfortable and clean and has all that you will need.
The Congo Beach House has everything you need for a relaxing stay. Warming wood heater for the chilly nights. Perfectly located. Congo itself is a small community, quiet and friendly. Great fishing off the main beach. Highly recommend.
Peaceful house in a quite coastal town
Great little house, clean and basic but had everything we needed. We loved the large deck and the fire place as it got a bit cool in the evenings. Congo is a small quite town with only the beach and National Park, great for surf and mountain biking. Its a great base for a day trip to Narooma or a trip along the beautiful coast road to Batemans Bay stopping at the many bays and beaches along the way and is only a 20min drive back to Moruya for supplies.
We found the house relaxing, sitting on the deck listened to the sound of the ocean, watching the visiting kangaroos and black cockatoos. So great to be away from our usual hectic life for the week
My partner and I recently stayed here for 2 nights. Great value for the location, only 200m walk to the beach. The house has everything you need for a relaxing getaway. Was extremely relaxing laying in the bed hearing the sound of the eaves crashing. Will def be back, next time in the winter to use the log fire.
The best thing was it was comfortable clean quiet and relaxing. It was great a nice place to get away
