About the property

The retreat provides 3 large bedrooms (2 with ocean views), a living room with a cosy wood fired space heater, a fully equipped kitchen with own dining area, sunny porch/reading room and 2nd dining room with bay window offering panoramic ocean views. Wombalano is a 100 hectare sheep and horse breeding property. With arrangement you can become involved in farm activities such as sheep mustering or feeding the friendly horses.

Comfortable but old

  • 3 of 5

Enjoyed our stay . Made to feel welcome . Warm fire . Comfortable beds. Lounge needs better furniture. Toilet out on back porch not that great in winter but clean. Bathroom shower needs updating so water doesn't run over floor.

What a lovely place

  • 5 of 5

The Wombalano was the perfect stopover while we travelled from Adelaide to Melbourne. We stayed for 2 nights which gave us a full day to explore the area around Yuulong/Johanna (which is worth exploring). It was rainy and chilly but we didn't mind as there was a fireplace in the living room. The house is furnished very well, simple and charming, we loved it. We will be back!

The perfect farm stay

  • 5 of 5

The most perfect family holiday. Our kids loved the sheep and Glen the great host/farmer introduced one of his horses. Perfect views of the coast line as well. We will be coming again

Good stay with magnificient view! :)

  • 5 of 5

The view from the house is very beautiful because we can see the sea view clearly and the house is surrounded by a beautiful garden and green farm. We love the interior design of the house because it gives a homey feels and its a good stay for a big family like us. Upon our arrival, Glenn (the host) already fire up the chimney to warm up the house since we go there during late autumn and early winter (its quite windy and cold outside). He even provide electric blanket on each bed so you will not freezing during your sleep. Glenn is very friendly host, he even bring us to his farm on the next day of our stay. Even though it is just a one night stay, my family and I really fall in love with the house and we wish to come back again if we have the chance to.

Loved it!

  • 5 of 5

This place is amazing. Glenn was there to greet us on arrival and was super friendly and helpful. The house itself is a lovely old country home, we had an amazing week here, we actually recorded a five track EP in the living room! Had we not had the tranquil, comfortable and picturesque surroundings of Wombalano im not sure our music would have turned out so well! Thanks so much Glenn, Wombalano was perfect!

Great Place - Great Location!

  • 5 of 5

We had a lovely overnight stay at Wombalano. A lovely old retro farmhouse, overlooking the ocean.

Glen was the perfect host, showing us where we could see kangaroos morn and eve, and telling us where we could see koalas. Our English guest was super-impressed to see them in their natural habitat - rather than some zoo or sanctuary.

We enjoyed a lovely fire at night and breakfast in the "nook" overlooking the ocean in the morning - absolutely lovely
