Two Studio apartments, or Semi Detached Cottage style, 5 to 10 min walk to beach
About Susan Balderas
I have worked within the Tourism Industry for over 20 years. Assistant Coordinator of the Lorne Visitor Information Centre. Ocean Lodge Lorne , Cleaner London, Plaza Hotel, Reservations and Sales. I enjoy meeting and accommodating travellers, plus helping them have the best experience possible, while staying in our Picturesque Town. Originally from a small country town, I love the community feel of Lorne. Having met my husband from Lorne I settled here and eventually managed to build a house with a business attached to enable raising our two boys. The perfect scenario. We have been running the business for fourteen years. It is still our passion to make everyone who stays with us feel relaxed and comfortable. To drive away from our property feeling refreshed, ready for whatever is next on the the agenda.
Susan Balderas purchased this Cottage in 2005
Why Susan Balderas chose Lorne
If you want a quiet setting with a bush feel, but close to the beach, that is us! The house was purpose built with the business drafted specifically to give as much privacy as possible to our guests. It is completely separate to our living space, however semi detached. You are at the front of the property. We live at the back.
What makes this Cottage unique
The house was designed to replicate one of the original guests houses of Lorne. It has Character, however with all the mod cons provided for a comfortable, warm, cosy stay . French doors which lead onto the deck, allow a strip of Blue view of the Sea. Gum Trees out the front to house the birds that visit regularly, plus the odd Koala. Middle of Town to allow easy and quick access to the main street and Beach. Remember, we are on a hill.

We had a brilliant stay in Lorne. The property owner was very friendly and helpful. The accomodation was clean, warm and cozy. We highly recommend this property when holidaying in Lorne.
Set in a quite spot, the property is well equipped, very clean and well presented, the few extra touches (bottle of Pinot Gris and Chocolates) complemented the experience.
The lounge is a lovely spot to ‘chill out’ with a glass in front of the fire after an Autumn walk on the beach. And there are several DVD’s available if you want to snuggle down for the evening.
Sue is an excellent host, by being just attentive enough, to ensure we didn’t miss or want for anything. We barely used our car as we enjoy exploring on foot, but seeing us set out one morning, Sue even asked us if we wanted to be picked up from the town, which is only a short walk away, but has a reasonable incline to ascend to get back to the cottage.
Lorne is a great place to stop if you ever get the chance, perfect for a recharge summer or winter, and without a doubt having a great host, like Sue, and the right accommodation are the keys to a perfect break.
Thank you for taking the time to review our property Trevor and Robbie.
Such kind words.
So pleased you enjoyed your break away.
Hopefully you can make it down this way again soon.
Cute little cottage
Hope the "four legged friends" enjoyed the time also.
Cute & comfortable cottage
We found the cottage very clean and adequate and the host Sue was very friendly and helpful. Our dogs had a wonderful time running on the beach in Lorne.
So pleased you had a lovely time.
Especially the "four Legged Friends"
Hopefully we will have you visit again sometime.
Lots of attention to details
They made us very welcome and helped out when we needed to make another bed! We saw our own Koala and kangaroo in the yard!
Layla pleased you enjoyed your stay.
We always wish to make our guests as comfortable a possible, ( within our means)
And make you stay memorable.
We last stayed here 12 years ago but only for one night. A return visit but for much longer was a MUST.
Our hosts were so helpful and very knowledgeable. The property is within walking distance of the many sights of Lorne - bit of a steep climb back up but keeps one fit!
Vida Finally a thank you for the lovely review.

All the best
