Lovely cottage near the beach

  • 5 of 5

The whole family enjoyed this lovely cottage near a fantastic beach. The kids swam every day and it was close to all the activities we wanted to do. Would stay again immediately.

Owner's Response: I’m very pleased that Kangastay suited you and that you enjoyed your time on KI. We don’t live on the island but manage to stay about four times a year. We can’t stay away. I’m so glad we bought the house and can share it with others . Ros&John

Great property, very relaxing. Blind over the kitchen window would help with security, apart from that we loved it.

Cheers Lucas

Owner's Response: Thanks for your lovely review Lucas. The idea of a blind for the kitchen is a good one. We usually have no one able to look through that window with the water tank and trees around but I have a suitable blind and will follow up. All the best, and come to Kangaroo Island again, Ros

Really enjoyed our stay at Kangastay. A very comfortable, clean home and a great handy location. Ros the owner was very helpful and accommodating. The friendly possum came each night and brought her young one with it was so lovely to see. The corner shop had the most delicious whiting burger and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our stay was absolutely delightful, everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable, clean and cosy had a wonderful sleep. Hoping to come back soon for a longer stay as apart from such a lovely clean comfy home its such a good handy location. Thank you very much Ros for allowing us to book and stay in your wonderful home absolutely lovely private location. : )

Fabulous place to unwind

  • 4 of 5

We loved our time here. The house was warm and welcoming, with lots of unexpected items to make our stay more comfortable. We settled into a very enjoyable routine of seeing the spectacular sights them coming back, playing board games, cooking dinner then watching a DVD (except one night when we went penguin spotting). No washing machine because of limited tank water, but surprisingly that was only a minor inconvenience. Location perfect: central to island highlights. Highly recommended.

Kangastay is in a wonderful location for seeing the main icons of Kangaroo Island, The Flinders Chase is only 30 mins drive where the Admirals Arch and Remarkable Rocks should not be missed. Seal Bay is only 15 minutes drive away and has a protected colony of Australian Sea Lions. (Amazing to visit). Do not miss "Raptor Domain" where you can experience wonderful birds of prey being flown (as they are rehabilitated for return to the wild). There is also a reptile display. Contact the owner for fishing tips and more about the Island.
