What a top spot !!

Really enjoyed our stay at Kangastay. A very comfortable, clean home and a great handy location. Ros the owner was very helpful and accommodating. The friendly possum came each night and brought her young one with it was so lovely to see. The corner shop had the most delicious whiting burger and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Our stay was absolutely delightful, everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bed was very comfortable, clean and cosy had a wonderful sleep. Hoping to come back soon for a longer stay as apart from such a lovely clean comfy home its such a good handy location. Thank you very much Ros for allowing us to book and stay in your wonderful home absolutely lovely private location. : )

Fabulous place to unwind

  • 4 of 5

We loved our time here. The house was warm and welcoming, with lots of unexpected items to make our stay more comfortable. We settled into a very enjoyable routine of seeing the spectacular sights them coming back, playing board games, cooking dinner then watching a DVD (except one night when we went penguin spotting). No washing machine because of limited tank water, but surprisingly that was only a minor inconvenience. Location perfect: central to island highlights. Highly recommended.

It is a cozy house in a really good location. It was very clean. Also, a lot of information about the area was provided, which can help you to get into the mood.

The equipment in the house is good too.

Lovely Comfortable House!

  • 4 of 5

We stayed for a week just after Christmas, it was great having outdoor tables at the back and front of the house, nice clean BBQ, the extra toilet at the back is handy when the house is full, the kids liked the choices of DVDs, the games, well appointed kitchen, perfect for a family! Thanks a lot for all the tips as well..

WOW!!!! At the price I paid I wasn't expecting too much but was I wrong!!! Fantastic clean place, in a great location. The place had all the comforts of home and more. It feels like your isolated in the bush and it's nice and quiet. Close to the river and beach it was a fantastic location and one of the best holidays our family has had. Thanks for the tips on the Fairy Penguins and other surprises around KI. If you are looking for a nice relaxing holiday with the family, then this is the place to stay. A few tips: Buy your groceries either before you travel to Kangaroo Island, or at the IGA at Kingscote, as it's a bit of a drive to Kingscote. There is a general store about 300m away bit is pretty expensive and may not have everything you are looking for. Understand that everything does cost more in Kangaroo Island, to cover freight costs, and they need to make a dollar to stay in business somehow. Get your hand ready to wave to all the drivers, KI is a very friendly place and you'll feel like a local in no time. Drive carefully... The wildlife have a habit of not looking before they cross the road. You're on holidays anyway so there's no excuse for driving fast. Thanks Ros for allowing us to rent your lovely holiday home. We will definitely be back.
