Great place to get away. For those that like fishing, the boat ramp is at the end of the driveway and the owners are happy for you to use their jetty when available. We will be back.
Beautiful spot to rest and relax, and see a wonderful little part of Victoria.
We had a fabulous time staying at Riverbed for 4 nights. The house was just enough for us. We spent a lot of time on the lounges on the balcony reading and relaxing, with visits from King parrots, various cockatoos, kites, wattle birds and a lyrebirds, as well as the kangaroos. View of the gorgeous garden and the river. Short walk to Gipsy Point Lodge where we hired a canoe and explored the peaceful Genoa River. The fire kept us warm at night, and the lack of wifi meant we were REALLY relaxed by the end of our stay. Thank you for having us!
Thanks for your kind review. Riverbed is a perfect place to relax and watch the (bird) life pass by. I am so glad you enjoyed it.
We spent two nights at Riverbed on the water - highly recommended.
Peace and nature
We had 4 nights here and found it a beautiful spot in a very quiet location.
The garden is just lovely and full of so many trees etc and there are a wonderful variety of birds.
We even had a juvenile Brown Goshawk in the garden one morning.
The river and jetty are a tranquil spot and great for fishing.
There are many lovely bush walks nearby too and the rainforest is truly amazing with spectacular trees.
We saw many Lyrebirds which was a treat and I even found a Powerful Owl early one morning just 50 meters from the bottom of the driveway.
The house is rustic but comfortable.
Bed super comfortable and the deck is huge and many hours can be spent relaxing out there with many parrots and other birds coming to the feeder.
We would certainly stay again and hopefully the weather would be better to really show off the spectacular beauty that surrounds you.
Really appreciated the eggs and bacon etc that was left for us to enjoy.
Thank you for letting us enjoy your special house at Gypsy Point.
Riverbed is all that you say, quiet and peaceful. The proximity to state forest and national parks allows this close contact with birds and animal, lyrebirds, wombats and of course the kangaroos lounging on the lawn. As for the powerful owl, that was a real treat.
Comfortable stay, relaxed atmosphere, peaceful setting - perfect!
Riverbed is a traditional family holiday home in a beautiful setting - large garden, native birds all around, close to the water (about 40 metres from the end of the drive).
Gipsy Point is a great location with a peaceful atmosphere, but only 15 minutes from Mallacoota township with a full range of services and shops. This area lends itself to relaxation, fishing, spending time on the water, reading, easy bush walking, bird watching, playing cards, cooking and generally just chilling out.
Kitchen was well equipped with a good range of utensils, furniture was comfortable and in good condition, and we all found the beds were excellent.
Car parking under cover just outside the door was convenient, and everyone appreciated the fresh homemade bread, free range eggs from the friendly chooks, and the bacon went down well with the carnivores.
Went out early the first morning to search for birds and as soon as I had stepped onto the verandah two King Parrots landed less than a metre away and proceeded to stroll up and down the hand rail. We saw more than 20 species including lyrebirds and Nankeen Night Herons from the deck-chairs.
Clean, well presented, wonderful hosts - we'll be back!
Thanks for the great review. It is such a pleasure to share 'Riverbed' with appreciative guests.
Not living up to its surroundings.
Beautiful setting, comfortable home - apart from the bed! Home is clean but kitchen cupboards grubby, the few items in the pantry sticky and out of date.
We booked for two nights B& B but got just one breakfast provided - almost out of date cereal and two rashers of bacon, four eggs, bread and the tiniest pot of jam for two people comes across as mean. Had to ask for butter, English breakfast teabags and coffee.
Four people staying here would struggle to find enough crockery to meet their needs.
A quiet and beautiful place but the property came across as being run into the ground.
