St. Stephen's Cathedral - 15 min walking (1,2 Km): St. Stephen's Cathedral (German: Stephansdom) is the mother church of the Archdiocese of Vienna and the seat of the Archbishop of Vienna, Christoph Cardinal Schönborn, OP. Its current Romanesque and Gothic form seen today, situated at the heart of Vienna, Austria in the Stephansplatz, was largely initiated by Rudolf IV and stands on the ruins of two earlier churches, the first being a parish church consecrated in 1147. As the most important religious building in Austria's capital, the cathedral has borne witness to many important events in that nation's history and has, with its multi-colored tile roof, become one of the city's most recognizable symbols.

Palace Urania reachable within 3-4 min of walking: The Palace Urania is a public educational institute and observatory in Vienna.
It was built according to the plans of Art Nouveau style architect Max Fabiani (a student of Otto Wagner) at the outlet of the Wien River and was opened during 1910 by Franz Joseph I of Austria as an educational facility with a public observatory. It was named after the Muse Urania which represents Astronomy.
During World War II, the Urania was damaged severely and the dome with the observatory was totally destroyed. After its reconstruction, it was reopened during 1957. The observatory itself has been continually improved technically over the years.
Presently the Urania also has seminar rooms in which wide-ranging classes and lectures are given, a movie theater that screens at the annual Viennale movie festival, and a puppet theater created originally by actor Hans Kraus.

Landstrasse has a quite a varied appearance, especially due to the mixture of old and new structures. For instance, both the Belvedere and the Hundertwasserhaus are located here, as are the Rochusmarkt, the shopping street Landstrasse itself, the Stadtpark, and the KustHaus. Furthermore, the 3rd is home to several embassies which makes the district into a very safe one.

My husband and I stayed at this apartment for 2 nights. We have only positive things to day about it (we travel a lot, having stayed at many apartments with a price range of 85-120 euros per night). The description is absolutely accurate - it's spacious, clean, comfortable bed, fully equipped kitchen,10 mins walk to Old Town. It also faces the courtyard so there is no noise of traffic or people whatsoever. There are a lot of restaurants and cafes nearby - I'd like to recommend a great restaurant "Makone's" located at Marksergasse, 5 - Georgian cuisine, amazing food!!.
The owner of the apartment Mani is a delight to deal with! Not only was he extremely professional and courteous before we signed up to stay at this place, but also helped us with matters not related to the rent of this apartment! Thank you very much, Mani, for everything!
Overall, I'd say this is a wonderful place to return to after a long day of sightseeing. We will gladly be back to stay there!
Stayed for 12 days. Enjoyed very much. Perfect for my needs
We enjoyed our stay in this apartment in Vienna. It was the perfect size for us and provided all the comforts we expected. This apartment is perfectly situated in a residential area that is quiet yet close to all the action. We walked with our luggage from the train station to the apartment with no problem. We also did not have access to a car and walked everywhere from the apartment. It was maybe a 10 minute walk from the apartment to the tourist area. It is a very nice walk with a lot of things to see along the way. If we are ever in Vienna again, we would stay here. It was a very comfortable apartment. Also, Mani was available anytime we needed him and he met us at the apartment to show us around once we arrived.
We stayed for five nights at this light-filled well equipped apartment on Hetzgasse just a 10-15 minute walk to Stefansdom and the heart of the city. We were absolutely delighted with the accommodations. Mani was a great host and was very helpful. One of the other reviews talked about the apartment being a little far from sites. I disagree. That could only be true if you are not used to walking at all, and even then the trolley stop is just two short blocks away. The neighborhood, while primarily residential, is just a couple of blocks past the Ringstrasse and a 5-7 minute walk from one of the major transportation hubs of the city. I, a 60-year-old woman, walked home without fear several nights alone after dark. It was great to have a washing machine! The TV is first-rate and the apartment has everything you need. In the neighborhood, do not miss the Hundertwasser architectural site or Gasthaus Wild for dinner. Thank you, Mani for the lovely stay!
The apartment has only windows onto the courtyard and with quiet neighbours there was hardly a sound.
It's only a few streets away from Wien Mitte so very convenient for arrival and departure from the airport. The town centre is only a bit further. The apartment itself was warm in November and had everything we needed for a week's stay.
The owner met us on arrival and gave us the local information. There are small local supermarkets and a little further on Hofer (Aldi) where we usually shop in the UK.
We would certainly recommend this property.
This apartment offers all you will need for a great stay. There were three of us, the room was spacious and the beds were very comfortable. It's within minutes to the metro and tram, grocery stores, in a very safe area. Mani is very nice and was reachable when we needed him. I highly recommend this flat to anyone visiting Vienna, such of beautiful city. Thank you for accommodating us Mani!
Travel Information: If you are flying to Vienna, we recommend the City Airport Train (CAT), every 1/2 hour from Vienna airport to Wien-Mitte Station. Wien-Mitte is 4 minutes walk away from our apartment.
