Getaway
We loved the location , very quiet and peaceful. The cabin is what it is : basic but sufficient for a couples needs. Upon arrival there was rubbish lying around and the inside was not very clean, the owner did immediately offer their apologies and refund of the cleaning fee when brought to their attention, which was highly appreciated! We had booked in for 4 nights but we cut it one night short as that was more than sufficient to discover the surrounding towns and beaches !
Quandong
Everthing was great! no complaints about the Cabin or the Beautiful Surroundings.I was disappointed the Chap in the unit next to me had music on that was loud enough for me to hear in quandong,i was glad he was gone the next day! The peace and quiet is why you go there.I did get 2 days of peace and quiet ! heaven.
Disappointed
Unfortunately, basic was an understatement. We did not expect a palace for the price but sadly we were quite disappointed.
Basic but cosy
Great location, fantastic views, basic cabin, but has got all you need!
Quiet, bushland surroundings
A very quiet and cute cabin. Highly recommend for a day or two. Water not far away, 150 mtr walk. Great view. Flaws are, cabin gets extremely hot inside and with air con on it still doesn't cool down. Average temp inside was 34, but at night with cool breeze it was much better. Shower had little pressure I ended up washing in tub outside lol. These are not major things but definitely need rectifying as our pooches suffered to. On the plus, we can't be to picky as it was a cute place, had all basics and was at Venus bay. I recommend definitely staying here, but not if it's over 30 degrees and bring all bedding towels blankets and pillows (the bedding and pillows were badly used and lots of previous pooch hair all over, just made it feel a little in clean seeing this)..... over all highly recommend and we would definitely stay again in cooler weather, our kids (dogs) loved running through the bush onto water. Thank you for our stay. Oh, Julie was a delight to deal with and very professional.
Thank you for your review, we are looking at upgrading the power system to allow a better air conditioner. I have organised the plumber to come and fix the pressure in the shower.
Peaceful, Tranquil and oh the Serenity!
HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Wow. What can I say. My husband and I adore this place. Booked Quandong for a month. I love it here that much, I booked the bigger cabin close by Melaleuca for 2 months.
Was exactly what I needed being the first anniversary of losing my Mum. To be away from the hustle and bustle of the city and everyday life.
Being pet friendly, my 15 month Boxer dog absolutely loves running and water so being on 70 acres and less than 100 metres from the beach, he is in his element! My 11 year old Mastiff loves the water, smells and adventuring. It has given her a new lease on life. Julie and Andrew (the owners) even let me bring my baby lamb. She isn't weaned off of milk yet so loves going outside to nibble on grass, plants and learn.
Obviously, it is eco friendly. Possibly things may go wrong like loss of power, water but nothing major. Julie and Andrew are only a phone call away (even when I called with a question when they were overseas), and go above and beyond to help and resolve any issues.
Map
Venus bay is a tranquil coastal town set on the entrance to the bay from the ocean take a walk to the head of the bight and spot the dolphins playing on the surf. Fish off the jetty or hire a tinny from the caravan park to catch a king George whiting in the bay. Go for a drive to Murphy hay stacks only 20 minutes away and then to Point Labett to view the sea colony or swim with the dolphins and seals at Bairds Bay then finish off your drive with lunch at Streaky Bay.
