Overview

About the property

2 separate units - each with 2 bedrooms and bathroom/kitchenette

This beautifully renovated federation farmstead features 2 self contained units, each with high backed claw foot baths, colonial style furnishings, lounge and dining areas.

The family unit can accommodate up to 8 people - master bedroom queen bed, kids room - 4 single beds, and lounge - double bed. Unit also has kitchen and bathroom.

The honeymoon unit sleeps 4 people. Master bedroom - queen bed, 2nd bedroom - double bed and there's a trundle that a child can sleep on. The unit also has a kitchen, bathroom and lounge/dining area.

Each unit starts at $155 per night.

If you would like both units - then it's $300 per night.

If you have special requirements, please call us to discuss your needs.

The house is surrounded by 55 acres, you can go bush walking or simply relax on the verandah overlooking the property. The 15 metre swimming pool is very inviting.

We are ideally situated close to the local wineries and numerous art and craft galleries of the Tamborine/Canungra area. You may like to just stroll around the Canungra township, or go for a day trip to O'Reillys and do the tree walk.

Owners of the property live on-site.

There's plenty to do around the Canungra Valley and the Gold Coast is only 40 minutes away

Horse riding can be booked for you with Thunderbird Park or Gumnuts horse riding complexes - both are only 10 minutes from our property.

If you are an early starter, you can go to the track with Steve and watch the horses go through their paces - but you need to be up at 4 a.m.

Magpie Creek Farmstay is the home of up and coming race horses, as well as young foals that are learning the game. Trained by property owner Steve Field, these horses are learning to go the distance

Guests are also welcome to come and feed the horses early in the morning and again at about 4p.m. in the afternoon, the kids love doing this, filling the feed buckets, learning about the horses and throwing out the hay.

Feeding time at the farm

There are chickens to feed - eggs to collect and if you are really energetic, you are welcome to help feed the 26 horses in the morning and in the afternoon.

This can be lots of fun for the whole family.

While you are walking through the paddocks feeding the horses, you will see lots of ducks and birds who all come down to eat with the horses.

For those guests who just want to relax, you will enjoy sitting on the deck, reading a book, watching the kids swim in the pool.

And if you want a little exercise, a walk up the hill and back down again takes about 20 minutes and is great for getting back to nature.

About Jenny Field

Your hosts are Jenny and Steve Field, Steve is a horse trainer and you will see him working around the farm most days. Jenny travels to Brisbane to work every day. Over the years, we've had visitors from all over the world including Japan, China, Singapore, UK, Norway, Germany, Mongolia, New Zealand, Mexico, America, Wales and France. We love meeting travellers and finding out more about their country and culture.

Jenny Field purchased this farmhouse in 2002

Why Jenny Field chose Boyland

The farmhouse is 100 years old and full of character, when we bought the house it lived in Brisbane - so after a lot of hard work by everyone - it was cut up and transported to our farm - where we took a year to renovate the house. Originally it was 4 flats, we've taken the front 2 and made it into our home, the other 2 flats remain as originally designed. Our guests have their own separate flat either the Family Unit, or the Honeymoon Unit.

What makes this farmhouse unique

What's unique about our property, probably the simple quite lifestyle, the beautiful pool, the surroundings, and peace and quiet. The sky of a night time is so clear you can spot the satellites. Guests often come and stay because they want to visit all of the theme parks on the Gold Coast without having to stay on the Gold Coast. Our accommodation is clean and tidy, affordable for families and it's fun to stay.

Excellent Property

We had a great time! My daughter loved roaming around with the animals. Steve was a wonderful host, showing us around and giving us the inside scoop on the horse-training. Made a beautiful campfire for us too!

Relaxing environment

  • 5 of 5

My wife and I took our kids and some friends kids (6 kids in total). Steve was so accommodating for us all. Jenny was delightful. We would not hesitate to go back there (though the shower/bath took some getting use to!) Thanks to them both for providing one of the most relaxing holidays we have had in a while at a ridiculously affordable price. You guys are awesome .. hope to see you again soon.

Canungra is in the hinterland behind the Gold Coast, it's only 40 k/m to the Gold Coast and 60 K/M to the heart of Brisbane, our farm is a great place to come and not too far away from all of the city attractions. A little bit of country and a little bit of city for our guests.
