This stylish abode is a subtle blend of elegance and simplicity about a mile from the heart of historic Old Mesilla. The amenities are new and quite luxurious. The unique furnishings and original local art are soft-toned and eclectic. There are possibilities everywhere for imagination, comfort and harmony. Overlooking the quiet inner garden courtyard and pool, Sofia’s Suite is filled with warmth, light and sunny afternoons.
Whatever is happening during your stay in Las Cruces-Mesilla, coming home to relax or work will always be a pleasure. Enjoy the downstairs fitness room, the outdoor grill for a barbeque, the outdoor pool with lounge chairs for fresh air, and of course the simple ease of your own comfortable and gracious realm upstairs.
They say La Mesilla is the place where time stands still and it is true. Explore the historic neighborhoods, walk along the Rio Grande irrigation canals and imagine what it was like at this crossroads a century and more ago.
Las Cruces was the half-way point for travelers on the westward trek from San Antonio to San Diego, as well as southward bound from Santa Fe to Chihuahua. Today it is a lo-rise university town, home to 90,000 warm-hearted souls and surrounded by big southwestern skies and vistas. Nearby museums and art galleries, unusual shops and restaurants are wonderful and welcoming.
White Sands National Monument is less than an hour away, as are many other areas for hiking, exploring and relaxing. The Organ Mountains on the eastern edge of the city offer their grandeur to all, and reflect color and light distinctively throughout the day.
We welcome you to come stay for a few nights, weeks or months and invite you to enjoy this peaceful, stunning, small abode whenever and for whatever reason you come to Las Cruces.
This photo was taken after lunch at Peppers Cafe at the Double Eagle on the Old Mesilla Plaza. From left to right we are: Teresa, on-site manager; Gail, owner; Yoly, housekeeping; and Amy, reservation and service manager. Gail's favorite part of traveling is getting to know what is special about a place and how life is lived there. There is a particular blend of old-world Mexican and the rural wild west here in Mesilla-Las Cruces that intrigues and informs....and keeps calling us back.
Mesilla Abodes purchased this condo in 2008
Southwest New Mexico is a unique part of paradise. Las Cruces and Old Mesilla have a distinctive history in an uncommon environment. Here are desert and mountains, wide open vistas and sunny skies. The sunrise and sunset are equally beautiful and the air is clean and refreshing. We feel happy and at ease in this warm, friendly community. Mesilla Abodes is both convenient and quiet. Just on the border of Old Mesilla with Las Cruces, access is easy from I-10 and to all points in both towns. Also our beautifully landscaped complex has its own lovely atmosphere.
Sofia's Suite is spectacular and beautifully furnished; close to Mesilla shops and restaurants, as well as the walk along the Rio Grande. The entire staff is so accommodating. If you don't stay here when in Las Cruces, you are missing out on an enchanted condo in the Land of Enchantment.
Excellent place to stay in las cruces, it's very convenient to everything. Very clean and organized place.
We spent 12 enjoyable days here and were very pleased with the overall quality. It was nice and quiet, even though we had a number of neighbors due to spring break at the same time. The kitchen was very nice and well equipped. Everything was in good working order and the bed was quite comfortable. The location was nice for us because we were very close to family and friends who live in the area. We would certainly like to stay there again but the challenge will be to fit in to the busy schedule because of it's popularity.
My husband and I enjoyed staying at this nice and cozy condo. It had everything we needed to feel at home. We are definitely booking again. Thank You Gail and Amy for letting us stay at your condo in such short notice and working with us so quick! We really enjoyed the stay.
We loved your condo. It is so cute, it feels like home. Anything we thought about needing, if we just looked around you had it right there at our fingertips. It is almost like a joke because if my husband says I wish I had......typically within a minute or two I can produce it. Last night he wanted a ruler as we had some blue prints we were looking at and he wanted to make some changes to them to scale. Sure enough, you had a ruler. You have done a great job of anticipating peoples needs. Can't say enough good things. We would absolutely recommend the condo as well as stay there again. All of the restaurants you suggested were spot on. Our favorite was Peppers although we didn't have one bad meal in Mesilla or Las Cruces.
This small one bedroom condo provided the perfect escape at the end of each day! My young son and I enjoyed waking up and eating a leisurely breakfast before starting our day. The Trader Joe's coffee provided by the owner was a nice perk! We also made great use of the heated pool with my nieces and nephew each afternoon. My Mom and brother joined me in the shade for beers while the kids played in the pool. The location made it really easy to get anywhere in town within 10 minutes. Being located in a gated community enhanced the feeling of safety and security. We will definitely stay here again!
