Wagait Beach Bush Retreat

Bedrooms 2
Property type house
Minimum Stay 2 nights

About the property

Wagait Beach Bush Retreat is a fully self-contained, self serviced 2 bedroom house on a secluded one acre block close to the unspoilt and picturesque beaches of Wagait Beach.

Located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, the house is set amongst natural bushland and tropical gardens. You will see an abundance of birdlife, many wallabies and lots of other native wildlife.

The property is architecturally designed to make the most of our wonderful tropical climate and lifestyle.

Guests have a unique opportunity to unwind within close proximity to Darwin. Wagait Beach is an easy 128km drive from Darwin on fully sealed roads or just 15 minutes across the harbour if travelling by ferry. Pickups/transfers from the ferry are available on request.

Wagait Beach is a popular location for deep sea fishing. There is fantastic fishing from the wharf and beaches or launch your boat from either the Mandorah or Bynoe Harbour boat ramps if you prefer to fish the harbour, inlets and tidal creeks.

Fishing, bird-watching, exploring WW2 relics, beach-combing or just old fashioned relaxing are some of the activities available to you at Wagait Beach. Snooze in the hammock, watch the sun set from the deck overlooking the sparkling in-ground pool and bushland or cool off in the pool with a coldie before lighting the BBQ to cook your catch of the day. The local shop is nearby for those who prefer some-one else to do the cooking!!!

Take a drive and explore. See majestic magnetic termite mounds, wetlands prolific with birdlife and a natural spring hidden in a tiny pocket of rainforest. Keep an eye out for a wild brumby or two!

Visit the last resting place of the 'Milady' a crashed WW2 American Liberator bomber. Check out the remains of the WW2 submarine cable that stretched across Darwin Harbour from West Point, near the Mandorah Wharf, to East Point, on the other side of the harbour. Also, look for the remnants of the many WW2 gun turrets scattered along the coast.

Stroll along the picturesque beaches and marvel at how close we really are to Darwin but at the same time a whole different world away. Check out our Wagait Beach Bush Retreat Facebook page for more photos of Cox Peninsula.

Wagait Beach Bush Retreat offers guests the perfect location to escape the humdrum of urban living. With peace and tranquillity in abundance it is easy to forget that the rest of the world exists when you are staying at Wagait Beach Bush Retreat!!!

To keep our wildlife safe, sorry no pets!

We loved our holiday at Wagait Beach Retreat, we were looking for a really chilled out break from the city & that is exactly what we enjoyed. The pool & bush surrounds are peaceful & private & Wagait Beach is a beautiful place for a beach walk & fish. Chris & Sue made us feel very welcome & the house had everything that we needed & is very tastefully decorated. Wagait Beach is a fantastic location, off the tourist track, peaceful & beautiful. The sunsets from the beach are gorgeous & we can't wait to go back!

Waigait Beach Bush Retreat - was just that, the feeling was that you were out in the bush away from everyone & everything. The idea of going there was to relax after touring around, before going back to the hustle & bustle of work and we found it a beautiful relaxing environment. Everything was there that was needed.
