About Ornella (Nell) Imber
Kim and I love this part of Tasmania and the lifestyle that it offers. We have two terrific sons aged 20 (uni) and 17 (yr 11). Surfing as a family is one of our favourite things to do. We all contribute to the running, cleaning and maintaining of our beach house. We know that there’s room for improvement but we hope you can feel the love that goes into the house. I work part time at the local school in St Helens and Kim is a retired teacher (I think), he’s having a year off, who knows what the future holds. I keep telling him that I’m too young for my husband to be retired. Music is a big part of our lives, Kim is a singer/songwriter and is eager to perform more this year. Our boys love their music and play bass guitar in various bands. I am an artist and have been painting for most of my life. The artworks on the walls at Max's are my works from various time periods. We all enjoy healthy, fresh, delicious food. We are fortunate that Kim is a keen gardener and keeps us well fed with his garden goodies and locally caught seafood. Max was Kim's Dad, he was my first friend when I moved to Tasmania 20 years ago. He had the house built in the 70's and Kim holidayed here as a boy. We miss Max, he was one of the most mindful people I've ever met. As guests we are a tidy, respectful family and are mindful of the energy that is involved in running and cleaning a holiday rental. Happy & Safe Travels! Nell, Kim, Floyd & Beau

Why Ornella (Nell) Imber chose Scamander
Max was Kim's Dad, he was my first friend when I moved to Tasmania 20 years ago. He had the house built in the 70's and Kim holidayed here as a boy. Max's Beach House is full of love!
What makes this House unique
Max's Beach House is full of love, with a relaxed beach style vibe. The property is secluded by native trees with an uninterrupted outlook to Scamander River lagoon and further across the dunes to the magnificent ocean.

Cottage away from it all
Property ok if somewhat basic. Plumbing in kitchen area is extremely loud and frightening for small children when taps turned on. The double bed was extremely uncomfortable and needs updating as do the bathrooms.
Comfortable beach house
We stayed for two nights, and would happily have stayed longer if we had time. We had plenty of room, and the property was clean and comfortable. Kitchen was large and well equipped. We would stay here again, if we're in Scamander.
Thanks Lesley, great having you stay at the beach house.
