It was wonderful staying right in the thick of it... especially during the Euro Cup in Paris and the Pride celebration. It was a 2 minute walk to the Centre Pompidou and a 10 minute walk to the river. Beautiful at all times of day. I hope to be back again.

This one bedroom apartment is well equipped and as advertised. We enjoyed our stay here, with shops and restaurants and the Pompidou Centre nearby. Great patisserie on Rambuteau Street. Landlord is very responsive and even though contract says deposit is refunded immediately on departure, it wasn't, due to his oversight, and was refunded electronically as soon as we requested it. Great home base to come home to after a day of sightseeing. We would return here if and when we get the chance.
The property was very clean and well cared for. The location was great. Easy access to many sites. We walked everywhere but the metro and RER were located close by. Dominique was very quick to respond if we had questions a wonderful host. I can't wait to go back. I would stay here again.
My apologies Dominique for the time it has taken me to write this review. I promise that it is not because we didn't enjoy our stay in your lovely and comfortable apartment. We absolutely did! You were a wonderful host and so was Olivier! Any time we had an issue or question, you were there to help. You guidance on transportation, shopping, etc. was a tremendous help. My 20 year old son said that the sofa bed was very, very comfortable to sleep on and he is over 6' tall! The apartment is charming and well equipped. The building is a little old and dark as you enter and yes, there are two flights of stairs to climb but everyone needs to realize that this is Europe and most of these building have history and character. It was nice for my husband and I to have the privacy of our own bedroom. The kitchen was fully equipped and the bathroom was clean and spacious. Loved having the washer as well. I would only suggest that you provide instructions to the washer, dishwasher, TV, etc. in English. I did bring my french dictionary but it did not help me much with the appliances. Anyway, this was a minor inconvenience. WE LOVE THE MARAIS!!! There is absolutely nothing negative to say about it. We absolutely made the correct choice to rent an apartment vs. staying in a tiny room in a hotel. We lived with the locals and that was the experience we wanted. Thank you Dominique. We loved this area and the apartment. Dominique was very kind to accommodate an early arrival. Olivier was there to meet me and introduce the property. The Marais is also our favourite neighbourhood in Paris. One can walk nearly everywhere. Only caution, pack light as there are two floors of winding staircases to climb before you reach the apartment.
The apartment is just as presented in the website photos -- clean and very well-equipped right down to spare toothbrushes! There is lots of storage space if you want to unpack and spread out. The owner promptly answered all my inquiries both before and during our stay.
The location, on a street vibrant with shops and cafes, provides easy walking access to many of the central sights plus it is a five minute walk to two metro stations. I felt safe in the neighbourhood, even late at night (with my cousin).
Don’t be dismayed upon entering the building from the street – it looks rundown but this is a mature Paris building with character like other buildings in the city centre. If you arrive after dark, look for the lobby light switch behind the entry door as you enter. The other switch opens the door as you leave the building. The apartment is located at the back of the courtyard up two flights, thus off the busy street and not disturbed by its liveliness, even with the windows open. You will hear the few neighbours using the wooden stairs, but less so from the bedroom than the sofabed. The apartment floor is very creaky but I don’t recall hearing footsteps of the residents above. I felt safe here too.
WiFi is reliable and password secured. Although I had concerns about paying the security deposit before my arrival, it was returned in full within two days of my departure. I would definitely stay there again.
