Old world charm
What a great find! A charming century-old wooden cottage in the heart of Berrima village. Our host, Paul, maintains the place spotlessly clean and in great condition; a no mean feat, considering the work that the fragile cottage requires! A lot of thoughts have been put into making sure that the guests feel comfortable, from a fully stocked fridge and kitchen to the plentiful supply of linen.
This fastidiously kept place would suits guests who appreciate old-world charm. Stay somewhere else if you prefer soulless Ikea furniture and generic design. Having said that the rooms feels overtly personal and a little cluttered, and slightly creepy given the many old photos of supposedly dead relatives everywhere. A little de-personalising might help guests feel more welcomed and less like intruders. While we really appreciate that this beautiful cottage is dog friendly, the many well chosen old rugs covering the authentic wooden floor could be too hard to resist even for a very well toilet-trained pooch.
The best part of our stay was admiring the beautiful front garden, enjoying the large tranquille backyard and garden, and feeding its resident flock of wild birds. Lovely!
Cozy little place
Home from home with old world coziness and charm. Nicely provisioned for that quick meal! Thank you for making our stay comfortable
Cosy and clean
Very cosy, comfortable, clean and well stocked with blankets heating and breakfast supplies. Owners were lovely, very accommodating and easy to communicate with
Excellent for a weekend away
If you want to stay in a period cottage in the middle of Berrima then this is the place to stay. Excellent location. Great cottage garden to relax in, with lots of coloured birds to feed. Along with a vast array of fresh breakfast foods supplied!
Gorgeous historic cottage
Charming and authentically furnished cottage which was just perfect for a sister's catch-up. The willow-pattern china took us straight back to childhood! We also appreciated the generosity of our hosts with the well-stocked fridge for Sunday breakfast, plus wine and chocolate to greet us. We enjoyed our breakfast outside with the king parrots and rosellas. Unfortunately the gardens need some attention and watering, and made the place look a bit neglected. Some cushions for the outside chairs would be welcome too, but overall a great place to stay.
