Long Point Break - Beachfront Accommodation

Property type cottage
Minimum Stay 1 - 2 nights

Overview

About the property

Enjoy nature's splendour either by relaxing in the cabin or getting up close and personal with everything Long Point Break has to offer.

Walk 11kms of pristine, untouched white sand beach combing for shells.

Take a swim in our sheltered (no nasty sea breezes) corner of the beach.

Fossick in the rock pools.

Surf the break at the old jetty ruins.

Watch the penguins and shearwaters (mutton birds) return to their nests upon dark.

Marvel at the giant granite marbles which line the foreshores when you go exploring along the rocks.

NOTE: The penguins are seasonal. Highest numbers are in summer.

Cabin facilities

Long Point Break offers a fully self-contained modern 2 bedroom (2 queen beds) cabin with a modern and contemporary decor.

We have a fully equipped kitchen and also a BBQ for entertaining outside.

Both bedrooms have quality linen with egyptian cotton for your comfort.

A home theatre and 37 inch television add to your entertainment experiences.

Unfortunately, we are unable to cater for young children (under 10 years of age). Please check with us when enquiring

NOTE: We recommend Telstra mobile phone service for best reception at the cabin.

What's close by?

We have the beach directly in front of the cabin, so any beach activity you can think of is right at your fingertips.

Wildlife abounds!!! Particulary birdlife: Penguins walk past the cabin on the way home to their nests. Sea eagles fish off the rocks and nest nearby. Shearwaters return here every year (the only time they ever come on land) to breed during September to August. Grass parrots, wrens, wattlebirds and other honeyeaters are common. Whales and their calves often come into the bay to rest up on their migation either north or south. Seals and dolphins also follow the natural curve of the beach on their fishing expeditions. We have a large population of Paddymelons and Bennett's wallabies, wombats and bandicoots...So sorry, no pets permitted.

We are half way between Bay of Fires and Freycinet Pennisula and Wineglass Bay.

We are also halfway between Launceston and Hobart in terms of travelling time, being approximately 2 hours from both.

There are over a dozen vineyards all within one hours drving time and just as many restaurants. Local towns are also within an hours drive. Bicheno is the closest town, being a 15 minute drive away and has everything you could possibly require.

A deposit (50% is required) and is refundable only if the nights are resold.

Beautiful cosy cottage with amazing views and penguins at our doorstep! Easy drive to Bay of Fire and Wineglass Bay. It's a well equipped home, away from home!

This place is incredible!

  • 5 of 5

I stayed here with my teenage son in June 2017 for two nights. The owners have absolutely thought of everything and provided it accordingly. The outlook is stunning, the accommodation is extremely comfortable and well looked after. The tips and suggestions on what to do around Bicheno and surrounding area was very helpful. The highlight of our trip was watching the penguins coming in for the night. Whilst the property is outside of Bicheno, it is 100% worth the extra drive out of town to stay there.

Amazing

  • 5 of 5

We spent three nights, could of stayed forever. The view and location was out of this world. The whole beach to ourselves, collecting shells on a windy winters day, perfect. The accommodation was outstanding, everything supplied that you needed. Spotlessly clean and comfortable. Nights spent playing board games and a good bottle of red from the local vineyard and the penguins, what an experience, surrounded by them, watching and listening to them morning and night.

We will definitely be back to this amazing property.

Thank you.

Beachfront Bliss

  • 5 of 5

We had a perfect stay at Long Point Break. The location is one of a kind, and the cabin is very comfortable. Would 100% stay again and will reccommend to others. Our only regret is not being able to stay longer.

Stunning location!

  • 5 of 5

We stayed two nights at Long Point Break and could not fault a thing. Wishing we stayed longer! The view was spectacular and the penguins were a bonus! The cabin supplied everything needed for our stay. And the beach was just beautiful. Hopefully we can come back in the summer to make the most of the beach!
