Perfect location, friendly hosts, top notch accommodations.

Picking a good place for three days in Sydney was crucial to my travel plans. Sam and Veronica's place was perfect. We loved that it was in a historic area, and the beautiful details they had done to make the place thoroughly modern, yet maintain the historic character.

The three separate bedrooms suited our family of four, and the master suite was gorgeous and well appointed. The kitchen area has everything you would want, with a washer dryer. They have a handy map with the locations of points throughout The Rocks. There is a small corner store next door with milk and whatnot that you may need.

Check in was simple, and we immediately made a visit to the Lord Nelson pub next door to dull our already dulled travel senses. We spilled a beer, and found out how friendly the staff was as the hopped us to a new table, and had a replacement with a smile.

From this location, it is a ten minute walk across the Rocks to Circular Quay, in fact everything is close, and an easy walk. A suggested day we took would be to Uber to Coogee beach, do the Coogee-Bondi walk, then Uber to Watson's Bay. From there, you can first explore the cliff walk (gorgeous), and catch the ferry boat back to Circular Quay. We stayed on, went under the bridge, and hopped off at Barangaroo ferry stop.

Other easy walks (or exercise jogs) are to the piers (wharf), then under the bridge to catch the sunrise on the opera house, or down to Argyle Street about seven minutes to La Renaissance Patisserie for breakfast pastries and coffee. We also enjoyed the Japanese restaurant around the corner - Tago-an, and the pizza place two blocks away - The Local Eatery.

Quaint well positioned heritage home.

  • 4 of 5

Rock Cottages is a very quaint little cottage situated in the heart of it all. The cottage is well decorated and very comfortable. However from a practical point of view it was a bit of a mission entering into the apartment with all our big suitcases and climbing all the staircase. The rooms were small but very well appointed. The building next door on a Saturday morning was also a bit of a negative....especially the glue smell. If I must add any suggestions; a coffee machine would have been a big bonus as coffee shops were a bit far far for that first morning coffee. :-). Overall we had a lovely stay in Sydney!

What a gorgeous place to stay in a fantastically quiet patch in CBD Sydney. Location sells this place but with the bonus of 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms! Great, accommodating hosts. Lots of small touches. Highly recommend.

Fab Property

  • 4 of 5

The cottage was fab-beautifully presented, warm and very comfortable and in a great location to explore the Rocks and Barangaroo. We would have appreciated receiving arrival information more than 3 days ahead but the property itself was great, we will be back!

Close to everything

  • 5 of 5

Three night stay for 4 people on a weekend trip in Sydney. The cottage was very clean and tidy and the communications from the Property Manager clear and timely. Location is fabulous with a host of bars, cafes, restaurants and attractions in easy walking distance. Would definitely stay here again when next in Sydney
