Boasting spectacular 180 degree views of Maria Island and only 50 minutes drive from Hobart Airport, Orford’s Maria Views Bed & Breakfast is the perfect location to relax and explore Tasmania’s East Coast.

It’s the perfect location to unwind and relax and what better way to complete your day than a final walk along the beach before you return to enjoy a glass of wine and be mesmerised by the moon rise over Maria Island.

The modern one bedroom apartment comes complete with welcome drinks and chocolates on arrival, lounge/dining, fully equipped kitchen with washing machine and cosy bedroom with ensuite bathroom.

Explore Orford/Triabunna and its many attractions – golf course, fishing, boating, close swimming beaches, a winery, bushwalk along the many walking tracks. There’s a hotel, restaurants, supermarket, Post Office and café – all within easy walking distance. Visit the waterfront marina in Triabunna – it’s the gateway to Maria Island. Whilst there, grab the best fish and chips around as well as visit the Visitor Information Centre or have a drink at the Spring Bay Hotel.

And last but not least visit our local icon - the beautiful Maria Island National Park. Pack a picnic and enjoy a day exploring historic Darlington, climb Mt Bishop & Clark or Mt Maria. It’s the perfect destination if you enjoy walking within pristine nature.


My husband Ian and our daughter Michelle, two dogs and one cat live in this big home which is perched into a hill giving 180 degree views of Maria Island in Orford. Orford is the first town along the Great Eastern Drive that is on the East Coast when coming from Hobart. We purchased this property in 2002 which was built to lock up. We then spent the next few years making it liveable for our family with the B&B being the last project. In 2007 the downstairs section of our house was complete and we commenced operating as Maria Views Bed and Breakfast in 2008.

Ian and I both work full time - locally. We love the area having moved from Victoria and previously from King Island. We have 2 daughters , 2 dogs, Ockie and Toots (Mother and daughter) and we have adopted a stray kitten 3 years ago who also forms part of the family and is called Lucky. We keep the animals away from the B&B area as we are aware that not everyone loves dogs. They have a fully fenced backyard to play in but can been seen from time to time lounging on our front deck if we are home.

We want to welcome people to our place that don't mind the potential bit of noise from upstairs. We work from Tuesday to Friday, starting at 7.00am and we get up at 5.30am. We do make every effort to be quiet but I know how much any noise can travel when it is in the quiet times of the morning. My parents have been pretty honest with us when they have stayed on where they can/cannot hear the noise and we have made adjustments to take that into account. On that note we have been told that the noise is less than what you would hear in a hotel/motel however if you are a light sleeper it may be a bit noisy for you. As mentioned above the unit includes parking, private entrance, open plan dining and lounge, comfy bed, soft towels, and more.
