Located in North Melbourne, t is within easy walking distance of the CBD and the buzz and street life of vibrant Errol and Victoria Streets with their wide range of restaurants, cafes and shops.

The apartment is minutes away from Melbourne University, the Royal Melbourne Hospital, Childrens Hospital, Royal Womens Hospital, the Etihad Football Stadium in Docklands, the Victoria Market and the famous Flemington and Moonee Valley racecourses.

It is easy to get to from Melbourne Airport and is very well served by public transport being less than 50 metres from the nearest tram stop..

The Apartment

The sofa bed is brand new and boasts an extremely comfortable thick innersprung mattress that is far superior to most sofa beds and provides a sleep equivalent to a very good bed. This new sofa was installed in February 2013.

Access to the bathroom from the bedroom is across the living room which may make the sofa bed unsuitable for some guests.

Great stay

The Chetwynd is in such a great location - a very short stroll to Errol Street and surrounds, which is filled with excellent pubs, bars, cafes and has a very inviting vibe. A tram stop is virtually right outside, although you can do as I did and walk into the CBD, only 20 minutes away (while stopping at the Victoria Markets, just 10 minutes stroll).

The apartment has a lot of character. It feels homely and comforting. Heating and airconditioning is good and the shower is nice and powerful. It's not 5 star mega luxury, it's solid and cool and comes with both a lovely courtyard and two very friendly hosts.

On this last point, I raised a couple of issues with the hosts and they have been good enough to respond and to take some action to rectify. I think that's the sign of both excellent hosts and a good property, one which I'd be happy to recommend and return to in future.

Great location, quiet and comfortable

Had a great stay so close to Melbourne CBD without actually being in the noisy heart of the city. Felt like a local being able to come 'home' to Chetwynd with its interesting history too. Great local cafe 'Lulu's a must try and wine bar Willow Wine Bar.

Excellent stay

Very nice cottage. Very close to city, but far enough away to be out of the busy CBD. Very comfortable and warm. Everything you need. Loved staying here and definitely would recommend.

Cool in summer

Usual good stay at this little apartment in the heart of North Melbourne and so close to everywhere. Our summer stay in the heat of Melbourne (36 on Christmas Day) was no bother for us - it must have been 10 degrees less than outside. Terrific respite. Very effective air-conditioning for overnight as well.
