The Bicheno Buddha Bungalow is a fully self contained,1 bedroom, cedar cabin, set in a beautiful private, native garden, only 200m to Redbill Beach and Diamond Island.

With a stunning backdrop of tree lined hills and the soothing sound of the waves coming from the end of the short street, the bungalow is perfectly positioned for you to enjoy Bicheno's attractions and to explore Tasmania's amazing East coast.

The spacious timber featured living space, with a cosy wood fire and fully equipped kitchen, including espresso machine, make for a hassle free and comfortable stay. We provide everything to ensure you can relax and soak up the peaceful ambience, of the Bicheno Buddha Bungalow.

Quality linen is provided, there is an ensuite bathroom and also laundry facilities for your convenience. The sofa bed in the living space is also available to accommodate an extra person.

The warm interior of the bungalow and lovely garden spaces lend themselves perfectly to relaxation pursuits. There are yoga mats, props and instructional books/CD/DVD's in the bungalow for you to use if you wish. We can also arrange package deals that include individually tailored private classes or multi day retreat activities. Redbill Beach is a stunning stretch of pristine white sand set against a backdrop of tree lined mountains, with incredible views up the east coast. It has good surf and fishing and provides access to Diamond Island which sits majestically in the bay. The granite island can be easily reached via a sand bar at low tide and is home to a penguin rookery. Walk north from Redbill and many kilometres of beautiful uncrowded beaches, granite outcrops and secluded bays are all there for you to enjoy.

Alternatively, head south, and take the scenic foreshore walk into Bicheno (15 minutes) via Waubs Bay (swimming/snorkeling) or continue around the amazing granite coastline past the Gulch and Governor island (fresh seafood straight of the boat/fishing/diving/glass bottom boat tours) and onto the Blowhole and Rice Pebble Beach. Take care if you are doing this at night as you are likely to be sharing the path with some of Bicheno's resident penguins!

In Bicheno - take a penguin tour, watch for whales, enjoy the incredible views from whalers lookout, walk the scenic foreshore path, enjoy a variety of good food and coffee, buy some local gourmet produce to pack for a picnic, take a glass bottom boat tour, go scuba diving, learn to surf, browse the local galleries and shops, swim and snorkel at stunning Waubs Bay, organise a fishing charter, take a day trip to Freycinet National Park by boat and leave the car at home.

Central location for exploring the amazing Tasmanian East Coast.

Just a few kilometres up the road is the Douglas-Apsley National Park where you can enjoy one of Tasmania's 60 Great Short Walks. Experience a magical 2-3 hour walk through native forests, along the Apsley River and through the Apsley Gorge. A refreshing swim at the picturesque waterhole is just one of the highlights of this beautiful walk. Nearby is East Coast Nature world where you can learn about Tasmania's unique fauna and see the endangered Tasmanian Devils.

The Bicheno Buddha Bungalow is centrally located for easy access many of the east coasts amazing array of attractions. Drive 30 minutes to Coles Bay and the world renowned Freycinet National Park, home of the stunning Wine Glass Bay. There are various walks to enjoy, including the climb to Wine Glass Bay Lookout which affords some of the best coastal views on the planet. You can walk on down from the lookout to Wine Glass Bay for a swim and then continue the walk back along the red tinged, rocky coastline on the opposite side of the peninsular known as the Hazards. The walk to Cape Tourville Lighthouse also provides stunning views of the Freycinet coastline. The area can also be explored from the sea in a guided kayak tour which is a fantastic way to experience the attractions of this amazing part of the world.

Take an hour's drive up the coast to the lovely town of St Helens, gateway to Binalong Bay and the incredible Bay of Fires. The bluest of ocean, the soft white sand, the huge granite boulders covered in red/orange lichen combine to provide stunning scenery and great photo opportunities. St Helens is also acknowledged as the game fishing centre of Tasmania.

The drive north gives you access to some of the east coasts best beaches, surfing, fishing and beautiful coastal scenery including lagoons and wetlands with abundant birdlife. Stop off at Scamander and visit to the Iron House Brewery for a tasting or some fine local food. Take a detour to St Marys via Elephant Pass where you can enjoy pancakes with a view. In St Marys visit the craft shops/artspaces or drop into the Purple Possum Cafe for fantastic organic food in a lovely garden setting.

The drive south along the scenic Tasman Highway from Bicheno to the pretty beach side town of Swansea, is dotted with many wineries, where you can taste the award winning cool climate wines, that are a signature of the east coast. Enjoy the views over Great Oyster Bay and Moulting Lagoon with its amazing bird life, with the stunning backdrop of the Freycinet Peninsula to frame the view.
