About Leo Green

Hello from Leo, Janet and our dog Moose (the picture is not our dog). We are empty nesters and have hosted WHL Junior League Hockey players from Canada and Czech Republic for the last 12 years with much enthusiasm. We enjoy going to the games and having a personal interest in the teams success. I am a real estate appraiser and specialize in water front properties due to my passion for our lake cottage in Coeur d'Alene and the beauty of being around lakes and outdoors. My wife is a manager of Homestead Birkenstock Store in Northtown Mall in Spokane were we live. We enjoy going to our cottage on Coeur d'Alene all year round. Sharing it gives us joy along with helping with the cost. We have had many years of plesant memories on the Coeur d'Alene lake and hope that if you come stay you will have similar fun times as we have with our family. Come prepared to relax in a private getaway with a serene beauty that calms the soul. If you are anxious you are living in the past, if you are in fear you are living in the future, if you are at peace you are living in the moment.

Best Regards

The Green Family

Leo Green purchased this cottage in 1989

Why Leo Green chose Coeur d'Alene Lake

My parents purchased the lake front lot in 1952, the year I was born. I have been privileged to grow up in this wonderful environment in the summers. I have continually updated the cottage through the years to keep it modern. My aunts and uncles also purchased property near and I was fortunate to get to know many of my aunts, uncles and cousins as we played together in the summers.

What makes this cottage unique

At Coeur d'Alene Lake We love to swim, hike, boat, water ski, jet ski, but mostly just relaxing with a cool beverage and enjoying the environment. Family always is a wonderful ingredient for the best memories. The closest I get to Heaven On Earth!

Guestbook comments from the owner

I have been going to this spot on Coeur d'Alene Lake since I was a boy and it will never cease to amaze me that there are things of beauty that I have not yet witnessed and many that have recently come to my attention. The most stark realization is what a beautiful world this is.

Perfect lake getaway!

  • 5 of 5

Everything that was promised and more. Our group of 15 found something for everyone, and were able to have an amazing time. The bay is quieter than the rest of the lake, and offered fantastic views throughout the day. Everyone was comfortable, and Leo has made sure the cabin has all the little things you might need during your stay. We definitely plan to come back soon!

Excellent view, very relaxing

  • 5 of 5

Our stay at Leo's lakeside home was excellent. It was very spacious, well stocked and comfortable. Leo was very accommodating and helpful. He strove to ensure that our stay was enjoyable. The little space heater upstairs had a malfunctioning light, so I called him to inquire if the heater still worked. He offered to drive out with another heater, but it wasn't necessary because the heater did warm up after a bit.

We rented this home with two other families and the kids really enjoyed roasting marshmallows on the fire. It was very convenient to have all the firewood there and ready to go. He even had some newspapers for starting the fire! During our brief stay we spent a fair amount of time on the deck with the amazing view, just a small reprieve from monotonous workweeks. The only minor drawback was a the entry staircase; it was a little long for hauling kids & icechests.

I'd highly recommend staying here if you're looking for a quiet & relaxing view of the lake. I just wish we could have stayed longer, it'd be excellent for an entire week.

Great location!

  • 4 of 5

I stayed here with 7 friends and it was the perfect size and location. We enjoyed hanging out on the deck and the docks. Leo was wonderful to work with - he provided great advice and was there for any last minute details.

Great Deck with Fabulous Views

  • 5 of 5

We (two adults, three teenagers) loved our stay at Leo's place. We (and our two small dogs) spent a lot of time on the expansive deck, which offered wonderful daytime and nighttime views of the lake. The lake was super clean and great for swimming. We enjoyed using the 4+ person raft that was tied to the dock. We rented a pontoon boat, motor boat, and jet ski from Harrison Idaho Water Adventures -- convenient delivery, great service. Leo's house was very clean and had everything we needed. We had trouble changing out the propane tank, so I called Leo, and he sent out a neighbor to help within 5 minutes. Only one minor complaint: the wifi was very slow (or inaccessible) some of the time -- probably because our 3 teenagers were going over the data limit. If we didn't live so far away (Chicago) , we'd be back in a heartbeat. All of us had a wonderful time.

25th Anniversary Stay

  • 5 of 5

My Wife and I stayed for 4 days. What a peaceful place. We felt like we were on our own island on Monday and Tuesday as the summer season had just ended. The early evenings were our favorite times to either hang out on the wrap around deck or go sit on the personal dock. The walk down to the cottage and to the dock was not to bad but coming back up can work you a little;-) The local Osprey paid us a visit twice and lots of deer walking around. Kayaking was very nice and we explored the cove and then all the way down to the Yacht club. Monday we were picked up at our personal dock by a fishing guide and went for a half day trip. My wife landed a 14lb Pike. We let that one go and kept the 5lb pike we caught for dinner. The drive down the rough dirt road and then the hike down the hill to the cottage make you feel like you just left the busy world and have found a secret hideaway. We drove to Harrison and another 7 miles and took the 3 north back to the 90. Beautiful sights to see. The floating walkway around the Coeur D'Alene resort was something we did twice. Leo was always available for any questions when I called and more than willing to serve if we needed anything. It was a blessed stay for us and we were reminded how nice it was as we traveled home back into the world. Our second flight had to make an emergency landing in Medford, OR as they thought there was a fire:-( 4 hour delay but we finally made it home to CA. We are looking at coming back with our 4 kids in summer of 2016.

3rd Visit

  • 5 of 5

This was our family's 3rd stay at Leo and Janet's Cottage. We had another great time at the lake with our 7 grand-kids ages 13 years to 9 months. A very large bald eagle perched on a snag not far from the deck to say hi and then swooped down to the lake for a sack. We took the scenic drive to Harrison for ice cream at Harrison Creamery. Yum! Mostly we just stayed and played in the water and enjoyed roasting marshmallows in the evening around the outdoor fire place. I would highly recommend this get away.
