Enchanting in-town adobe, Casitas Encantadas is a sanctuary with private country-feel and stunning views of Taos Mountain, yet conveniently located near the renowned historic plaza shops, restaurants, and galleries. The remodeled main house dates to circa 1895, is two bedroom, one large full bath and will sleep up to four guests; however, if your party is larger or if you want to spread out, you may rent the adjacent and totally adorable Casita/guesthouse. Guests will love the proximity to: downtown amenities (including the nearby Monte Sagrado Resort and Spa); world-class Taos Ski Valley; Rio Grande Gorge rafting, fly fishing and trail adventures; musical venues and parks; and fabulous museums recounting the fascinating history of this region.
The utterly charming, light-filled, double adobe main house has been updated with: hard-trowel plaster throughout, a modern kitchen, gas fireplace and a wood burning kiva fireplaces, refinished wood floors, hi-speed WiFi and HD Satellite TV, and a wonderful flagstone deck facing Taos Mountain and the incomparable Sangre de Cristo cordillera.

The cute beyond belief Casita sleeps two and includes: beautiful woodwork throughout, a thoughtful efficiency kitchen and dining area, bathroom with shower, full-size bed and living area, portal, HD TV and WiFi, and, yes, views that will knock your socks off!

The entire property sits on nearly .5 acres, is walled/fenced for privacy offering plenty of room for family barbeques/games, and borders the Rio Fernando, which flows magically during Spring run-off and into the summer. As if that weren’t enough, there is a historic acequia (irrigation ditch) winding through the property that flows during irrigation season. Very nice home close to central Taos

We had 3 adults and dogs. Property very comfortable and excellent location. A short easy drive into Taos. Nice fenced yard for dogs. Beds very comfortable. Nice living / dining room /kitchen area. A very enjoyable stay.

Enchanting Abode - Needs New Mattress

This wonderful casita sits in a quiet area with easy access to main travel routes and "downtown" Taos. The house holds many unique artistic touches, and the view of Pueblo Peak from the hot tub is marvelous. While the home is charming, the master bedroom mattress is decrepit and in desperate need of replacement.

Perfect location, great property manager, charming adobe

We just recently spent the last two weeks of July in this property. We thoroughly enjoyed the location that was less than 2 miles from downtown and less than a mile to the national forest for some great hiking trails. We ended up having all of our meals at the Adobe because it was so convenient to cook in the kitchen and so relaxing. There is a very big patio and the washer and dryer were absolutely fantastic! You really do need to book some thing with air conditioning in Taos. The two weeks we were there every day it was over 90°, so it was so nice to have the mini split that cooled the den kitchen and dining area plus bathroom. You need to leave the door open to the bedroom and the ceiling fans will help draw air into it. Everything has been very well thought out of what a guest must have. We enjoyed the smart TV and the extra bedroom to put luggage, etc. besides the air conditioning one of our top priorities we want a great kitchen, grill, patibig bathroom and a place for our dog. This unit has it all. The fenced in yard is so nice so you can sit out on the patio when it does cool down in the evening. Wendy, the property manager was unbelievable. She answered all of my questions prior to it as even arriving and then she responded to text so quickly while we were there at the property and had questions pop up. We really felt like we were the only people she was responsible for., great suggestions on restaurants, etc. I would definitely recommend the smiths grocery store.

From it's diverse tri-cultural heritage of hispanic, native-american, and anglo people to its stunning high desert and mountain landscapes, northern New Mexico was a truly unique place to grow up. As a third generation Santa Fean that has lived and worked in other parts of the country and world (including San Francisco, Japan, and Panama), my heart has always belonged here where the beautiful scenery and spirit of the people infuse the soul like no other place on earth. Some of my passions include skiing at world-class Taos Ski Valley, collecting indigenous art, and international travel. I have a wonderful spouse from Puebla, Mexico and two great kids who have grown up bicultural, speaking both English and Spanish.
