The cottage is opposite popular Dog and South Beaches and is ideal for couples and families.

There are fabulous sunsets and sea views from the front deck overlooking the Fremantle Sailing Club and Dog Beach. The deck provides an ideal location for relaxing with friends for evening drinks or starting the day with lovely breakfasts as you look out over the boats and ocean. Sometimes you can even see dolphins playing in the water across the road at the sailing club.

The sunsets are spectacular.

There is also a lovely shaded back garden with a pergola sitting area overlooking a herb and vegie garden - you are welcome to pick fresh herbs and a lettuce or two to use!

Perfect position to explore historic Fremantle and South Fremantle. Just 50m to South Beach & Fremantle Sailing Club. 50m to popular South Terrace restaurants and cafes. Three minutes by free CAT bus to Fremantle and all the historic sites plus the famous Cappucino strip and Fisherman's Harbour with fish and chips and restaurants on the water.

Two bedrooms - one queen bed and 2 singles [can be joined to make a second queen]. ( A portacot is available for babies.)

Our fisherman's cottage is in such a great position - you can walk everywhere! There are lovely local restaurants around the corner in South Terrace, including Italian, bistro, pizza bars, Thai, Indian and Mexican. Also a great range of local speciality shops, cafes, a grocer, two boutique bakers, and gift and clothing shops within a very short stroll from the house.

You can catch the free and convenient CAT bus across the road on Marine Terrace and get to Fremantle in 2 minutes and come back on the return service.

There is a walkway and bikepath across the road as well for lovely morning and evening strolls or bike rides. You can walk along the path to the family friendly and safe "Dog" and South Beaches for your daily swim. South Beach has a lovely playground overlooking the sea and 2 good cafes on the beach.

The house has everything you will want for a great stay. It is very comfortable and cosy and you couldn't ask for a better position to experience all the wonderful attractions that Fremantle has.

Plus it is full of history and character so you get the real taste of Fremantle and its fishing history. The Italian fishermen used to cast their nets directly opposite the house just 20 metres in front to catch sardines and herring back in the 40s and 50s.

Fremantle is recognised as the best preserved 19th century sea port in the world. More than 150 buildings in the port are classified by the National Trust, These include the Round House which was built in 1831 & is the oldest public building in W.A, the Esplanade Hotel which was built in 1890s and the Fremantle Prison which was built by convict labour in the 1850s.

Fremantle was establlished in 1829 as a port for the fledgling Swan River Colony and was the major city in Western Australia for much of its early history. Fremantle became a city in its own right in 1929, and survived the building demolitions of the 1890s and the 1960s. The city emerged in 1987 when it was the host city for the Americas Cup sailing challenge as a city rich in heritage and character.

“Freo” as it is also know to the locals, is home to a 500-strong fishing fleet and a vast number of yachts and pleasure craft. Two significant historical replica ships were built here: The HMS Endeavour and the Duyfken which was the first Dutch vessel to chart the Australian coastline in 1666.

The port city of Fremantle is located at the mouth of the Swan River on the West Coast of Western Australia and is part of the Perth metropolitan area. Perth city is only 20 kms away which is a 30 minute cab ride or trip by train from Fremantle station.

Fremantle is much more than an architectural time capsule. It provides a unique opportunity for visitors to experience and enjoy a range of cultural activities in a relaxed atmosphere.
