We fell in love with this unit the first time we saw it. It is one of four units in our complex with direct access from the lanai to the beach and water. You will love to just walk out the gate from the lanai to walk along the beach, relax on lounge chairs under the palm trees, watch the pelicans dive for breakfast or snorkel with the fish by the manmade reef in the bay. You will be just a few steps from the pool. Too lazy to cook after a day in the sun? Walk to Breezez about 100 yards down the beach for lunch or dinner. Or just go next door to The Golden Rail (open for breakfast, lunch and dinner). Two grocery stores are within walking distance. Drive just 7 minutes to Christiansted to enjoy duty-free shopping, art galleries, historical buildings, quaint shops, and several great restaurants. We are centrally located mid-island on the north shore. It is only a short drive to some of the most spectacular beaches in the world.

You will love this clean, updated unit:

Our unit has been renovated with new tile, paint, appliances, kitchen cabinets, bathrooms, blinds, linens and furniture. We have an air conditioner in the living area and one in each bedroom. The master bedroom has a king size bed, two night stands, a dresser and a closet. The master bath has a vessel sink in the vanity area and the stool and shower in a separate area. The master suite is separated from the rest of the condo by a door. The guest bedroom has twin beds which can be easily converted to a king by the staff before you arrive. The guest room has a night stand, a chest of drawers and a closet. The full bath is directly across the hall. There is a washer and dryer in a closet in the hall. The kitchen has full size appliances; a refrigerator, stove, dishwasher, and microwave. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils, dishes, pots, pans, etc. There are two stools for counter seating. The dining area has a glass top table and four chairs. The living room has a sofa, love seat, end tables, a coffee table and a wall mounted flat screen TV. We have internet (wifi) and cable in the unit.

Rent a car to see the sights:

We recommend renting a car to take advantage of the great variety of recreational activities on St Croix. There are three golf courses. Carambola is stunning. You can go horsebackriding on the west end in the rain forest and on the beach. Visit the botanical gardens set in the picturesque ruins of an old sugar plantation. The TanTan Tour is an exciting jeep tour to the top of the mountains in the rain forest and then down to wade in a tide pool on the north end. Visit the historic towns of Christiansted and Fredericksted. Take a hike from Point Udall down to Jack's and Isaac's Bay or hike from Carambola to the tide pools. Visit the Whim Museum or the Lawaetz Family Museum to learn about life on St. Croix in days gone by. Don't miss the crab races at several local restaurants. Also the night kayaking in glass bottom kayaking to see the bioluminescesnce is great fun.

Set sail on a Tall Boat, the Roseway for a sunset sail and support local kids and their learning experience on the Roseway.

Enjoy the beaches and the water:

There are too many beautiful beaches on St. Croix to name. You will want to visit as many as you can. Many of these beaches have great snorkeling. For the scuba divers, there are shipwrecks to explore, as well as 'The Wall' at Cane Bay. Don't miss taking a charter boat to snorkel at Buck Island (an underwater national park). Help hoist the sails on a hundred year old sailing ship, the Roseway, as you head out on a sunset cruise. Try night kayaking in a glass kayak to see the magical bioluminescence underwater in the dark. You can rent jet skis or try kiteboarding or windsurfing. Charter a sail boat or do some deep sea fishing from a fishing boat.

My husband and I are retired. We bought this unit to spend time in a tropical climate to escape the cold in the north. It has been one of the best decisions we every made. We have fallen in love with St Croix, the people, the culture and especially the beautiful beaches. We love the fact that St. Croix is not crowded with tourists. We enjoy driving around on uncrowded roads to lovely quiet beaches. I have started watercolor painting since I retired. There seems to be a clairity and brightness to the colors on St. Croix. The sunsets and sunrises are stunning. Each spectacular beach is a painting waiting to happen. The spectacular views take my breath away. The tropical flowers are delightful. The plantation ruins and boarded up structures give you a glimpse into the history of the island. I find beauty at every turn and it inspires me to try to capture my impressions in my watercolors.

We love the view from the condo out to the beach and the ocean. We love the location. It is centrally located on the north shore just minutes from Christiansted, grocery shopping and wonderful beaches. We can walk directly out to the beach from our condo. We enjoy the beach, the pool, the grill and the gardens at Colony Cove. We also appreciate the fact that St Croix is a US Territory so we feel very much at home and safe on St. Croix. Our friends don't need a passport to visit us.

What makes this condo unique

Our unit has been totally renovated. It seems like new and it is very clean.You will enjoy the updated kitchen and bathrooms. We have wifi access and a local house phone. The new furniture and linens give it a tropical feeling. We enjoy sitting on the lanai in the evening and just watching the moon come up over the ocean. We like walking out our gate to walk on the beach or read on the lounge chairs in the sun. We enjoy visiting with friends at the pool and grilling our dinner while we chat. We also enjoy snorkeling along the manmade reef in our bay. We have seen all kinds of fish, rays, lobster, turtles and even an octopus. Our unit has the best location in the complex and it is one of the nicest units at Colony Cove. We go to St. Croix twice a year to make sure the unit is well maintained.

Excellent location on a wonderful island

If you are expecting five star luxury, this is not the place for you, but then, St. Croix is also probably not the place for you. The condo is comfortable, cheerfully decorated, clean, and in a wonderful location to be a perfect base from which to explore the whole island if you wish. You could just stay at the condo, there is a beach where you can swim and snorkel, but certainly not the best beach on the island. There is also a very nice pool. Walking distance to a couple of restaurants, and a quick (maybe 5 min) drive into the main town of Christiansted where you can find cute shops and any type of restaurant you might like. You can also take tours from there. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Judy's condo to anyone. She is also a very easy person to work with and clearly enjoys assisting her renters in enjoying the island of St. Croix; she provides detailed information about the island attractions, recommends local restaurants and shopping and anything else for a very enjoyable time.

The breezes off the water were so pleasant that we never needed he a/c in the main living area, simply opened the sliders to the covered gallery and enjoyed the view and the refreshing breeze. The a/c in the bedrooms worked well at night to keep us cool. I was looking forward to returning before I left and would absolutely stay here again withou hesitation.

Another thing that I appreciated was how well stocked the condo is. Plenty of towels, including beach towels, anything for a day at the beach: chairs, cooler, boogie boards, etc. The kitchen is equally well supplied with cooking and dinner ware.

I highly recommend renting a car. The island is fairly large and taxis are expensive. You have to remember to "stay left" as driving is on the left of the road, but the main roads are in fairly good shape and well marked, traffic is not frightening like in St. Thomas, and other drivers are pretty courteous (just seems to be the way the people here are).

A Week in St. Croix

The condo is in a superb location, within the gated complex, on the ground floor closest to the ocean. There have been some major updates to the interior. Our only suggestion WOULD have been to replace the sliding glass doors facing the ocean. However, Judy mentioned that the condo association has decided to replace all of the sliders in the complex due to weather (salt air) damage. The new air conditioning unit in the family room was a life saver. The four stars (instead of 5) is not a result of Judy's unit but the island itself. The infrastructure is getting old and tired looking. Roads are in poor condition and most business areas could stand a facelift. I suspect that many tourists would find this "old world" fascinating. On the plus side, every meal, at any time of day, was above average. Dinner at The Bombay Club was outstanding. Lobster and a mini filet for $34. The Cruzan Rum factory tour was a riot. Neither of us are rum drinkers but we overstayed our welcome at the tasting bar. We managed to get 6 bottles home in our luggage. Fortunately, the Hertz rental car knew where we lived. The biggest surprise: Judy had sent our damage deposit and it was in our mail the day we got home (24 hours). A wonderful host.

UTOPIA

This is my second stay here, and I have no desire to rent anywhere else. Oceanfront and a "real" home. The condo is completely stocked with everything one needs to be comfy and cozy. It's convenient to both East and West ends, as well as fabulous restaurants. The beach cove is perfect for swimming or lounging in the sun, and there's always the pool too. RENT this place. Just not when I want to come back next year!!!!!!

The condo had everything needed for a great stay. The people that work there were wonderful. Only complaint I have is that there was construction in the condo next to us and above us. This is out of the owners control and at least they waited until 8am to start! I would definitely go back! We snorkeled out front almost everyday and it was great :)

A place of paradise

My husband & I stayed here in mid March and we had a most enjoyable vacation. We spent a lot of time relaxing on the beach. This was a perfect set up for a calm, rejuvenating, peaceful week. I am an early riser & would get up each morning, carry my cup of coffee out of the kitchen through the lanai and step onto the beach where lounge chairs waited for me; a bit of heaven on earth! All of the accommodations here were most satisfactory; the kitchen was well supplied with dishes, utensils, pots & pans, etc. There were plenty of towels & linens; there were beach supplies & a cooler for the days we packed our lunch before we headed out for some sightseeing. I can't think of anything we didn't have available. The information Judy supplies to her renters was well written; we used directions & some of her suggestions for things to do/see. We would definitely come back & also, will be referring our friends.

Our condo is centrally located on the north shore. We drive about the same distance to beaches on the south, east and west ends. We have two grocery stores within walking distance. We are about 7 minutes drive to Christiansted where many of the good restaurants, galleries and shops are located. You can also sign up for snorkeling, diving, jeep and sightseeing tours in Christiansted.

We love to eat at good restaurants. Our favorite restaurants are:
