I had been to Costa Rica several times, and fell in love with relaxed atmosphere, and the wonderful people of Jaco.
Parker, we just wanted to thank you for being so helpful. The property was really beautiful. The location of the condo was suprisingly private, with amazing views of the ocean. My wife and I spent most of our time walking the beach and exploring town, and we were able to get a round of golf in! Los Suenos was also a nice suprise for dinner and shopping. We felt like we were on a second honey moon.
Stayed here with four other friends, it was perfect for us. We arrived late but had no issues getting the keys. Rooftop is great but would like to see maybe a patio umbrella. Angel at DayStar was great, he gave us great ideas where to go for short trips. Security guards were nice and helpful. The only sour taste was on our last morning at the condo. We planned to leave at 8:30am so we walked out to our car to store our luggage, came back and we had been locked out. None of our keys worked. We had Cesar call DayStar which took about 15 minutes or more to open the door. Then the lady, Maritza (I believe that was her name), stayed in the condo while we finished gathering our things. She informed us she was there to take inventory of everything. I had no idea she was going to start counting glasses, plates, etc. I was horrified to see my friends give me a surprise look. I was not informed of this ahead of time so it was a surprise. Other than that, I would recommend it. Great time!
Really nice condo overlooking a great section of the beach. Rooftop patio is a great place to watch the sunset or catch some rays during the day. Only negative was that there was essentially no hot water, so your showers were lukewarm at best.
The condo was perfect for our family. We had three couples and it was great having our own bedrooms and bathrooms. The views were amazing. 4 out of 6 went to the Tortuga Surf school and had so much fun surfing right in front of the condo. Mike said to tell you "hi" Parker. The condo was clean. The security guards were wonderful. We never felt unsafe at all. We walked everywhere even though we had a car. We will definitely go back and stay at this condo if the opportunity ever comes again. Pura Vida!
From the time we were picked up at the airport to getting our taxis at the front gate everything was perfect. Ronald at the condo complex front gate was so helpful and friendly. The evening we arrived the lights would not turn on in the staircase leading to our condo. We contacted DayStar the next morning to let them know and they had it fixed that day. We also had a little issue with the air unit not working properly and again they had it fixed that day. The Condo itself was very nice. We believe this was the best location in the complex. It was on the third floor and the views were amazing. The rooftop deck was a wonderful morning coffee spot. We enjoyed watching the surfers (and trying a little ourself), the macaws that flew into the trees in the mornings and the peace and tranquility of the mountains. The beach area in front of our condo was the best portion in Jaco. We cooked a lot of meals and found a nice seafood market that Ronald recommended - Martec. The walk into town was not bad, we used the beach most of the time. A cab ride was $3. The pools were great, really enjoyed having three options. The only observation we have is that Jaco was a little more touristy and expensive than we expected. The people were friendly and we felt safe.
We had a great time at Paloma Blanca. It was relatively close to everything, no more than $5 can ride to anywhere in Jaco. The facilities were very clean and well kept. The staff was very friendly and helpful (minimal English though). The statement no guests, means NO GUESTS! Overall would definitely stay again at Paloma Blanca in Parker's place. Very helpful leading up to our trip. Only advice I would give to anyone thinking of visiting Jaco, do your research. Make sure this is the type of place you want to take vacation. While my group of 7 guys had a blast, not sure the town is where I would take my family out at night. But, if you plan to stay in, very safe and secure place.
We had seven adults for spring break. Condo is beautiful and decks offer perfect view of sunsets. Only steps from the beach. Would recommend taxi to town not for safety but for distance reasons. Complex is beautiful very clean and gated. Pools are sparkling. We did not cook but condo was sufficiently supplied for breakfast and lunch. We found many good restaurants on trip advisor. Complex helped arrange excursions . Beach towels were helpful since they were provided. Would recommend owner put extra pillows and blankets in closets for couch or chaise sleepers. Coffee pot has permanent filter but no coffee was left. Overall condo is perfect would highly recommend!
