Guestbook comments from the manager

Dear Anthony,

On behalf of my family I would like to thank you for our amazing week at your beautiful home. My 22 year-old son said as we walked through the house when we arrived, “Mom and dad, you ‘booking nailed it’”. It is just an amazing home and we repeatedly talked about coming back in the future. We had fairly crummy weather for the week but it didn’t really make a difference. We visited family, did lots of Maine-type stuff (Two Lights, LL Bean, Rafting, Hiking) and enjoyed just hanging out at the house. Two different nights we played “Capture the Flag” outside in the pitch dark. When is the last time you saw 8 adults (ages 22-53) running through the woods and crawling around on the ground to win a game? The ping-pong table revived old rivalries and my 12 year-old learned that she could survive without TV for a week. She said she didn’t even miss it. With a room for everyone and space to spread out, we weren’t on top of each other and therefore didn’t get in each other’s space. What great gathering spaces you’ve created with the amply sized dining area, sun room, and great room. It was so wonderful to just “be” together.

Thank you for sharing your home with us. We will definitely be back. It won’t be for a couple of years, but do you ever have the week between Christmas and New Year’s open?

Thanks for providing a venue for great family time and rejuvenation.

Sincerely,

Jody Petersen

Heaven on Earth!!

This was by far the most exquisite home we have ever rented. Absolutely gorgeous! From the minute you open the door, you are in awe of the craftsmanship. One of my dreams was to one day stay in a log cabin, this experience was over the top! The livingroom is magnificent with its towering and majestic fireplace! The cozy reading nook was popular with the teenagers, chatting, laughing and reading on their tablets. But the most popular spot was the game room. My husband and his brother were up to 3:00 in the morning playing Space Invaders. They said it brought back their childhood. They spent the entire weekend downstairs playing ping pong and darts. However, the real treat was the brand new hot tub! The girls hung out in there relaxing and chatting! This was truly a once in a lifetime experience and we created such great memories (which was my intention😉) Thank you Anthony and Cory for making it such a memorable experience! We hope to be back someday.

Owner's Response: Sheryl, It was great hosting you. I am excited to hear how much you enjoyed the new hot tub/waterfall AND that you took advantage of all great living spaces in the home. It is truly a place for all ages and by the way the Outer Limits game room is my favorite room so your husband and I have something in common. I am sure you made many memories that will last a lifetime. Our tanks and sincere gratitude for sharing our home, The Rauseo Family.

Owner's Response: Sue, Thanks for the wonderful comments. Cory, I and the whole crew work very hard to keep Big Bear Cabin in top shape. I hope you will come back again soon as we are installing a brand new hot tub end of summer with a "waterfall" in it and LED lights inside and out. I get excited over the small things. Now time to get ready for fall/winter folks. Have a great rest of summer and thanks again for staying at Big Bear Cabin. The entire Rauseo Family and staff

I can't see us going anywhere else.

Photos don't do this place justice. Immaculate! So many things could be said about WHY my family/friends enjoyed our stay. The main floor is just AMAZING, beautiful open, high ceiling cabin. I could literally sit I that room an entire week in front of the fireplace and read a book. The game room was taken to a new level by having it brought to life with black lights.. The giant movie screen with surround sound in the family room was a great place for us to cuddle together and eat popcorn.... And sitting in the toasty jacuzzi at night breathing the clean crisp air while looking up at the stars was a treat that won't be forgotten. Our only regret was not being able to stay longer.

Thank you Anthony (the owner) who made us feel that he truly cared about our stay. From the moment we walked in to find a welcome basket with Dunkin Donuts coffee (we needed that lol) to calling us to check in when he was warned remotely that the house temperature was low. Thank you! We will be back THIS YEAR!
